Remedy very happy with Alan Wake reception, sequel may not be far behind

Alan Wake is officially up andawake from his deep slumber, and the folks at Remedy Studios could not be happier with the reception of the fans. So happy, in fact, that they're already contemplating of a sequel.

Mikko Rautalahti of Remedy says of Alan Wake's success over at the Alan Wake forums:

"Yeah we don't really look at the Metascore all that much. It'd be nice if it was really high, of course, but considering how much praise we've gotten this far, we feel pretty good about the whole thing.

Clearly, it's been a critical success: the fact that some people feel differently about it doesn't change the fact that of the scores listed in the first post of this thread, there are eight perfect scores, and over 40 give us a 9 or a better. Only 7 reviews have given us a score of less than 8.

That tells us in no uncertain terms that there's a lot of love for Alan Wake out there, and we'd have to be complete goddamn idiots to not be satisfied with that. I mean, sure, the next time, we definitely hope to top that, it's nice to have something to aim for, but we're pretty damn far from disappointed.

Did you catch that" "next time" they'd definitely want to have a much better performance than the good one they already have now.

In the meantime, let's just all enjoy this long-awaited game, shall we?

Still got 10 days to go (Australia). Pretty sure I'm gonna love it. Been following it for about 4 years and love everything they've shown so far.

Silent hill is now borderline comedic, they could use some tips from these guys and the makers of Siren (ps3) imo.

I hope this game does well. :-?

You don't base a games success on biased review scores.
