RedOctane partners with music companies for Guitar Hero II |
Ó
RedOctane Entertainment, the division of Activision behind the world famous Guitar Hero series, has today announced the line up of in-game partners for the highly anticipated rock 'n roll title Guitar Hero II, which is due to hit Xbox 360 spring 2007. The guitar-wielding sequel will feature partner products in gameplay as players rock out to over 64 songs and the largest range of playable guitars ever seen in a videogame.
"The product placement within Guitar Hero II is designed to add an extra element of realism for gamers," said Dusty Welch, RedOctane's head of publishing. "Players are deeply immersed into the rock star culture, utilizing the authentic tools of musicians worldwide including an extensive array of amps, strings, pedals, cymbals, music stores and venues."
If you know the business yourself, you'd have probably heard of BOSS Effectors, DW Drums, Eden Bass Amplication, EMG, Epiphone, Ernie Ball Strings, Gibson Guitar, Guitar Center, Hofner, Kramer, Krank, Line 6, Mesa Boogie, MusicMan Basses, Orange, Randall Amplifiers, Roland, Vans and the Vans Warped Tour, VHT, and Zildjian - whew...whatta mouthful! - all of which will be included in Guitar Hero II.
Of course, the main company that will feature in Guitar Hero II will be Gibson Guitar, with the world famous Gibson SG being the flagship model in the last Guitar Hero game. Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar, shares, "As the leader in innovation in the musical instrument industry we take great pride in partnering with such an enormously talented and aggressive group as those at RedOctane and Activision. We look forward to many more years of success and entertainment for our many fans."
Guitar Hero II is out for PS2 on November 7, and will finally come to the Xbox 360 spring next year.
Only one question remains: Do you get a RedOctane Guitar or an Ant Commandos one?

Alright! Rock on! Now I can resurrect my game nights with my friends. I just wish Guitar Hero had some Nine Inch Nails, I could think of a few NIN songs that have straight up guitar in them.
