This has GOT to be the most pwning Halo 3 beta footage 3V4R! For one thing, it's got good video quality so much so that we don't have to deal with shaky cameras and pixelated viewing, and on top of that, it doesn't have any kids doing voice overs. Not only does the video itself pwn, but the reason why it pwns so much is because that's all what this video shows: different kinds of pwnage!
Pwned on a vehicle, pwned in mid-air, pwned from the top, from the side, and from below. Close-quarter pwnage, long-range pwnage, ambush pwnage, sniper pwnage, camper pwnage, double kill pwnage, explosive pwnage, laser pwnage... You get the idea. It's basically a montage of every kind of pwnage you can think of. And more.
To make things even more exciting, there's that "This video was made using the Saved Films feature of the Internal Beta. This is not the final content of the game. I find it hilarious how everyone seems to think that things will get better visually after a beta stage. sorry to burst your bubble, but in most cases of game development, games are basically "content complete" at an alpha stage. Alphas and Betas are meant primarily to fix bugs and tweak game play. When halo 3 comes out its going to 99% the same of what you seen in these beta vids. Its not suddenly going to be a million times better. Sure they might revamp a texture here or there, or lighten an area that's a tad dark, but lets be realistic.

Wow. Im in no way a Halo fan (I hated Halo2 with a passion), but this game looks fantastic. I have about 90 bucks in credit at EB right now and after seeing this video I might just be using it to preorder Halo3. I know the Halo community is extremely huge, and this game will be alive indefinately (Halo2 is STILL being played daily by thousands). There is no doubt that this game is gonna sell 360s like crazy.

But the facts are already on the table and shouting the truth which is Halo 3 visually speaking is nearly equivalent to halo 2. Storywise I dont know but the feel of the gameplay feels exactly the same as it did with halo 1 and 2 (sort of cartounish dont you think?). This games were created with the soul purpose to excel as online multiplayers nothing else which they do!!.
So far and probably it will stay like that because a beta is 99% the game you will get in the end, halo 3 will offer nothing more than halo 2 did.
By the way I dont wont to sound like a fanboy but Halo 3 Vs Killzone 2 graphically....Halo 3 is no match for killzone not even close. I just state what I see, your vision might be better then mine...

I dunno if youve ever played a true beta version of a game but its not anywhere near 99% like you claim. Ive been in many beta tests (SCDA, SCCT, Hexen, among others) and in all of them they are not like the final builds.
For one the textures are revamped for the final, in beta they just have placeholders. Many of the subtle details like water splash, smoke, and lighting are not present in betas, and only about 40% of the features are at your disposal. Its not a demo, its a BETA, and even if it was a demo it would still not be 99%. There are countless demos that look and play worse than their final versions.
Now, come back when you know what youre talking about...

I don't know what some of you are smoking, but this video has really got me excited for the beta and the game. I think it looks fantastic and I can't see how some of you think it looks the same as Halo 2. The graphics are 100x better than that. It looks rich and alive. This is the world of Halo 2 and should not be compared to anything else. I think this will the be best of the bunch and be incredible to play. Give it a chance, i am sure you will all be impressed.

Halo IS overhyped, but that doesn't make it a horrible game. It plays well, It's got a good story, and excellent multiplayer. It's a great FPS. Is it the best game ever made? Definitely not.
Even if your a fanboy for PS (Which I used to be, before I got my 360,) You have to respect Halo for generating so much interest and sales over the past years.
Metal Gear Solid has a much better storyline than the Halo series. Gears of Wars has better graphics than Halo 3 final will have. Halo 3, however, will always have the best multiplayer around, hands down. And thats what generates sales and interest.
Face it, the graphics suck. They look surprising similar to the Vista screens of halo2.
Halo3 looks no better then RFoM on the PS3. The environments are low quality. People said that RFoM looked flat, this game is even worse then RFoM when your talking about flat surfaces.
Lets get down to gameplay. Halo1 is still better. The sniper rifle is still a noob weapon as you don't have to compensate for distance or movement speed like the first game did. They also made the laser canon a noob weapon because of the same problem.
Then they made it easier to tag people with grenades. It seems that if a person is within close range, you no longer have to directly aim at them to get a sticky kill. They also increased blast radius of the sticky bombs.
They still have the problem with being able to melee a split moment after you fire. I exploited that plenty of times in Halo2 and it's cheap. At least make the entire fire animation finish before being able to do a melee.
Halo1 was great because there were no other shooters to compete against it. Halo2 was decent but not better then Halo1 in gameplay. Halo3 seems to be the same as Halo2 but with newer and cheaper weapons.
Why does bungie have to keep the game unbalanced? As you have seen from the videos, this game will continuously become a game of camp the landing zone.

If you think the weapons in halo are so unbalanced your just a noob who doesnt know how to play the game. The sniper rifle in the first game did NOT make you account for a moving target etc its always been exactly like shown in the video. I will agree that halo 2 was a disappointment but its far from a bad game. Halo 3 looks way less flat then rfom, and they overall style is just better imo as well(rfom has kinda a city 17 wannabe look to it) and the texture work for the mountains and stone walls look pretty good, grass just looks OK and the water looks the same as in halo 2.

Amazing this is the beta of a game that still has 6 months of polish, and has plenty of place holders. The HDR on snowblind could blown any shooter out of the water for both the 360 and PS3. IMO if you havent played how can you criticize it, and from the looks of your rep you really dont know what your talking about. Have you even played Halo 2 for Vista? I dont think you have!

To you its a noob weapon but to me and anyone else who has played it takes at least a little skill to get a head shot. Besides its the future think about the armor maybe it already compensates for it. My friend who doesnt even own an xbox is a complete noob and he cant use it. How is this game unbalanced? If a team can secure cerain parts of the map then they deserve that particular weapon, and if the other team is better and you are fortunate enough to grab a more powerful weapon maybe you can even out the odds.
Next time before you post think, then think a little more and dont just type.Your biased remarks, have no truth to them, if they had some proof to back it up then maybe i would see your view. Saying the graphics look like Halo 2 is really arrogant. There is no way you can campare Halo 3 to Halo 2. Just because it has the same models and weapons design (there are new weapons in H3), doesn't make it the same.
Do you even know what HDR lightning is? Watch the video and you can see the sun reflection on the platforms and the Master Chief models.
Why are you saying the game is over hyped? is it because people like the game? The 360 has lots of awesome titles out and coming out. The system doesn't need Halo 3 so the game isn't over hyped its popular. If its over hyped that means its building excitement even though it sucks. But Halo 3 is building hype because its a great franchise.

People are comparing halo to killzone only because they both are 1st person shooters AND that CG movie was graphically impress when sony showed it at e3 2005, graphics are important but gameplay is MORE important, a game can have the best graphics in the world but if the gameplay sucks the game will suck period and from what I see with halo 3 the graphics are good not great, so I say Halo 3 good graphics and great gameplay VS Killzones great graphics and good gameplay, sorry sony fanboys Halo 3 wins.
I also think from the footage that I have seen that the main campains levels will look great, but the multiplayer levels will just look good, time will tell if the multiplayer levels are just as good looking as the main campains levels

halo 1 was awesome that game is 99% perfect, the AI was inconsistant sometimes in my opinion I feel halo 1 was the better game with halo 2 the problem was the sense of direction was missing that is what made it feel not as good as halo 1, in halo 1 you knew why you were doing what you were doing in halo 3 bungie promised no compromise on the cinematics which should help the player get a better sense of the story which should give the player a sense of direction so halo 3 should be better than halo 2.

the problem is a lot of sony fanboys never played halo 1, but they played halo 2, halo 1 is better than halo 2, go back and play halo 1 and you will see there is nothing over hyped about halo its simply the best fps around not because of the gameplay but the universe the weapons the pacing the sense of direction, the needler and the sticky bomb and others which no other fps has half life was king and then halo came and beat it not by a lot but by enough halo 2s sense of direction was not there that is what messed up halo 2 hopefully the developers get it right this time, and yes I have preordered the 130 dollar pack cant wait

i second the motion! well, except for the sony bit. that one is a bit of an iffy statement...
unimpressed, really, graphically, almost anything worth playing in the last 2 years on the pc can compete with this, gameplay wise, its the same as halo 2, the only real improvement is the sound. after testing this, i still find my self going back to RFOM. Which, if it gets a decent update, it could keep up with halo 3 in quality. Although the mongoose couldnt be more fun ^.^ Maybe all you halo fanatics should take a step back, and realize, this is a polished shooter in a over crowded market, it doesnt really stand out from anything else out there, like halo 1, and 2 did.
Graphically, games get a small graphical upgrades, but usally only in lighting, and mostly in animation for the final product, so dont be disapointed, when this looks just like you remember it did in the beta, when we all get our copies.

The PS3 is just a system for watching movies. You might as well save some money and go buy a normal Blue-ray dvd player. PS3 games suck. Killzone 2 looks pretty cool, but it's nowhere close to what halo 3 is gonna end up like. Go surf the internet to find the best rating for a playstation 3 game. For example, on gamespot.com you can search for the top games for each NextGen system. Search top games for PS3 and you'll see it's best game is Oblivion: Elder Scrolls (which the 360 has by the way). So the best game unique to the PS3 is Resistence which got a rating of 8.6. Then go check the XBOX 360's top games. It's top game is Gears of War (9.6). And to make matters worse for PS3 owners, Alien Hominid HD got a rating of 8.5 on the XBOX 360. That's about the same rating as Resistence. The sad part is.... IT'S AN ARCADE GAME. Haha.
