I find it hilarious how everyone seems to think that things will get better visually after a beta stage. sorry to burst your bubble, but in most cases of game development, games are basically "content complete" at an alpha stage. Alphas and Betas are meant primarily to fix bugs and tweak game play. When halo 3 comes out its going to 99% the same of what you seen in these beta vids. Its not suddenly going to be a million times better. Sure they might revamp a texture here or there, or lighten an area that's a tad dark, but lets be realistic.

Amazing this is the beta of a game that still has 6 months of polish, and has plenty of place holders. The HDR on snowblind could blown any shooter out of the water for both the 360 and PS3. IMO if you havent played how can you criticize it, and from the looks of your rep you really dont know what your talking about. Have you even played Halo 2 for Vista? I dont think you have!

To you its a noob weapon but to me and anyone else who has played it takes at least a little skill to get a head shot. Besides its the future think about the armor maybe it already compensates for it. My friend who doesnt even own an xbox is a complete noob and he cant use it. How is this game unbalanced? If a team can secure cerain parts of the map then they deserve that particular weapon, and if the other team is better and you are fortunate enough to grab a more powerful weapon maybe you can even out the odds.



Next time before you post think, then think a little more and dont just type.Your biased remarks, have no truth to them, if they had some proof to back it up then maybe i would see your view. Saying the graphics look like Halo 2 is really arrogant. There is no way you can campare Halo 3 to Halo 2. Just because it has the same models and weapons design (there are new weapons in H3), doesn't make it the same.



Do you even know what HDR lightning is? Watch the video and you can see the sun reflection on the platforms and the Master Chief models.



Why are you saying the game is over hyped? is it because people like the game? The 360 has lots of awesome titles out and coming out. The system doesn't need Halo 3 so the game isn't over hyped its popular. If its over hyped that means its building excitement even though it sucks. But Halo 3 is building hype because its a great franchise.



Another thing, why do you care anyways? Its not like you're going to buy the game. Its not our fault you bought a system that is an expensive movie player right now. Maybe next time instead of buying into Sony's hype, you should start being an idiotic fanboy and not buy into crap.

Next-gen just means the next generation of consoles as in the next update to the console. So any game that comes out on Wii, Xbox360, and PS3 are next-gen whether they look good, play like crap or is a fun game.

the problem is a lot of sony fanboys never played halo 1, but they played halo 2, halo 1 is better than halo 2, go back and play halo 1 and you will see there is nothing over hyped about halo its simply the best fps around not because of the gameplay but the universe the weapons the pacing the sense of direction, the needler and the sticky bomb and others which no other fps has half life was king and then halo came and beat it not by a lot but by enough halo 2s sense of direction was not there that is what messed up halo 2 hopefully the developers get it right this time, and yes I have preordered the 130 dollar pack cant wait

i heard some of my friends say that they would be fine living off of open beta for months, just in case bungie would delay the game

unimpressed, really, graphically, almost anything worth playing in the last 2 years on the pc can compete with this, gameplay wise, its the same as halo 2, the only real improvement is the sound. after testing this, i still find my self going back to RFOM. Which, if it gets a decent update, it could keep up with halo 3 in quality. Although the mongoose couldnt be more fun ^.^ Maybe all you halo fanatics should take a step back, and realize, this is a polished shooter in a over crowded market, it doesnt really stand out from anything else out there, like halo 1, and 2 did.



Graphically, games get a small graphical upgrades, but usally only in lighting, and mostly in animation for the final product, so dont be disapointed, when this looks just like you remember it did in the beta, when we all get our copies.

The PS3 is just a system for watching movies. You might as well save some money and go buy a normal Blue-ray dvd player. PS3 games suck. Killzone 2 looks pretty cool, but it's nowhere close to what halo 3 is gonna end up like. Go surf the internet to find the best rating for a playstation 3 game. For example, on gamespot.com you can search for the top games for each NextGen system. Search top games for PS3 and you'll see it's best game is Oblivion: Elder Scrolls (which the 360 has by the way). So the best game unique to the PS3 is Resistence which got a rating of 8.6. Then go check the XBOX 360's top games. It's top game is Gears of War (9.6). And to make matters worse for PS3 owners, Alien Hominid HD got a rating of 8.5 on the XBOX 360. That's about the same rating as Resistence. The sad part is.... IT'S AN ARCADE GAME. Haha.
