3. The difference is...
"I've found a lot of people that play games, they come and drive cars and they find it extremely different. [The hand-eye coordination] is abonus, but it's just the controls and everything are just a little bit different."

"One of the main things is just the sudden change of direction, like if you change the direction too suddenly in the game the car might slide, but normally it's not sliding as much as what a real car would. People aren't smooth enough when they get into a real life car."

But of course.

but of course the experience would be different from real-life driving to in-game driving! the feeling would probably come close, given great technology, but i don't think a game can ever faithfully recreate the experience of real-world driving. what do you think?

Considering Eden games said countless times there not going for a sim like experience, makes the article kinda redundant.. They wanted a game that was fun to play, a mixture between arcade and sim.. Of course, we wont find out how it plays until the game ships next week..
Personally i cant wait!

I think the title was a little bit misleading. He was criticizing racing sims in general not TDU2 in particular. I think processing power is still way too low to be able to create a faithful driving simulator on any console. Still games this gen are doing good enough with the processing power available.

Meh i played in the beta and the cars in TDU handle like utter garbage not even close to the real thing. He was really cheesing that out by saying it was close. Its basically and arcade racers and if i wanted that i would just buy NFSHP deff a pass all around for me. They are going to much for the social aspects of it and forgetting its a game and not facebook.

Absolutely. I played the beta too, and even with FULL driving aids the cars slide of of control at any sharp turn. I am not looking for a sim, but the handling on TDU2 is WAY too touchy to be an arcade racer. I hope they fixed this ins the final game.

Meh, no driving simulator will ever have a perfect simulation. The differences between the real world and the virtual world are massive and I doubt any simulation will get close within the next 100 years.
The closest we can get is accurate "representations " that deal with hand/foot/eye coordination rather than feel, hell every video game steering wheel I've used wasn't even a 1:1 ratio with the steering.
How the hell do you expect to get an accurate simulation if none of the controls are even close to accurate?

I drive, it's a pain a lot of the time, clutches, dirty windows, real car handling is not the fun thing to do as some would portray, as anyone who played Richard Burns Rally will attest.
Nope, I rather be happy and having fun than be accurate and spending most of the time pointing into a ditch, thanks very much!

There in lies my problem, I'm a pretty good driver in real world scenarios but when it comes to the virtual world I suck on a level of my own. I've always hated racing games/simulators because of that fact, the more accurate they try to get the more I suck at it too. Nothing virtual will ever beat the thrill of an actual track, the smell of the exhaust and the feeling you get when you are pitted against real people.

Too bad only a few people get to actually experience that...
