Prey Only Takes 5 Hours to Finish? |

How long do you need to play a game to make it worth the hard-earned cash it costs you? Considering most Xbox 360 games run about $49 to $59, some folks may say you need to be able to play a game one heck of a long time. So, where does that leave us with the long-awaited Prey from 3D Realms? Rated-M.com is reporting that it only takes 5 meager hours to solve the single player campaign! So, technically you could be dropping $10 an hour on this puppy!
Watch out... Here be spoilers!
On the left, there's a screenshot that supposedly shows the save from the battle with the final boss clocking in at just over 5 hours.
Others gamers across the internet are saying that 5 hour time is simply not true... It took them less than 5 hours to beat it!
Can any of you confirm or deny this story?

What can you expect from games today?
All the devs do stuff half assed, and rush to get things out there.
It's gotten to be kind of normal now, to get 5-6 hours of gameplay out of the SP part.
The MP is where my money goes torwards, that's what keeps it alive for me.
But yeah, this game should have been atleast 30 or 40 dollars.

In the end, if the story is good enough, then however long or short a game lasts is irrelevant.
Just look at it this way, you at least have multiplayer. Also, if you rent the game, you can probably get a bunch of achievements to up your Gamerscore. LOL

If you're expecting long drawn out storylines with 40 hours of gameplay, then go play an RPG.
Think of it this way, do you really want to be wandering around the same general looking corridors shooting the same enemies for 20 hours? Any game that does that and the critics pan it for being "too repetitive and dragging on." And stop saying the developers are lazy. Look at the sheer amount of level design that went into the game. More actual level areas than most RPG's offer. You seem to forget that unlike RPG's you're not delayed an hour or two in every level killing random encounters. You're running through rooms and hallways. The pace of FPS is just entirely different.
5-10 hours to me is a completely standard length of any FPS game. And to sit here *****ing about it not being the length of a final fantasy game then going to ***** about how long games are too monotonous, you're a damned hypocrite.

I am in a small state that has some tournaments that I used to go to and the funny thing is today no one can actually BREATH. 5 hours to todays youth is a long time. And sadly those children will make the future games just as short and boring. How many of you play the old dice role playing games because it takes too long? The market makes the games short because of you and makes them look good just to keep that little part of your brain to keep sparking.
I am not saying change your children or anything I am just saying they are playing what the market, which is you, wants and that is short and sweet with no real in depth plot that has twist or turns. They would probably say "Read a stupid BOOK, you know the thing with pages and letters that you get at a library or bookstore."
