Peter Molyneux, famous game designer and programmer - Image 1Well-known for his outstanding, overly enthusiastic PR skills and in-your face comments, Peter Molyneux doesn't mince any words when talking about his newest upcoming action RPG Fable 2 for the Xbox 360. He expressed his concerns about wanting Lionhead Studios' Fable 2 to be more than just "better" compared to the first game, as well as the current trend of RPGs flooding the market today.

In an email sent to SPOnG.com, he had this to say:

I find the traditional RPG either a mixture of a hugely long slog, the padding out of often poorly balanced features for tens of hours or an incredibly complex multi faceted mixing pot of meaningless and confused features where the true feeling of being heroic has been lost. What we are striving to do with Fable 2 is to give the player a true heroic path that makes you feel as though you really are playing the role of a hero or heroine through finely tuned game mechanics innovation and story and our combat system is a big part of that. But I would say that wouldnÂ’t I?

P.S. Why do I let my big mouth do this every time?

A classic Peter Molyneux line indeed. In his addendum, he answered his own question saying: "Because I've never made a great game... a game I consider great." This just goes to show that you can't put a good game designer/programmer down. And with those words, at least the gaming community can be assured that he still has a few tricks up his sleeves in the future.

With Fable 2 still slapped with a TBA release date, we can only wait and see if Mr. Molyneux can indeed put his money where his mouth is.

And that's why Fable blows compared to any Jap RPG out there in the saturated RPG market.

» Youv'e Never played Fable

I really dont see why anyone likes japanese rpgs they all seem like clones of one another with the same boring turn based combat and spiky haired guys running round linear routes.

The music is good though but i cant think of a jrpg i would like to play more than any wrpg as wrpg all are unique from each other always with distinguishing features.

I dont know why im bothering to reply though as your clearly just some sony retard whos never played fable and likely knows next to nothing about fable 2.

» poor spectre

youre just upset that your failstation3 has no games. its ok though, hold off for a few more years and if your console makes it to 2009 you might just get a game worth playing. till then you can sit and spin
