Lumines

Tetsuya Mizuguchi's famed puzzler Lumines Live! is certainly making its way to the Xbox Live Arcade, but unfortunately the pricing options may not be as appealing as the game itself. While the XBLA version will feature high definition gameplay and support for 5.1 surround sound, it may actually cost extra to play against friends over Xbox Live. Mizuguchi said that the basic form of Lumines Live through the Xbox Live Marketplace, but if you want multiplayer you'll have to pay even more. That's currently the method they have planned for right now, but they're still trying to determine if they should include versus in the base package. This seems like a greedy move on their part, but if they can make more money for no extra work then why shouldn't they? Are you still going to purchase Lumines if they package it separately? Leave us a comment telling us how you feel about this whole fiasco.

Even though they have not given a price point, as long as they do not make it 10 bucks for the game and another 5 bucks for the online buddy play. I still think its rediculous to charge for something that is no added work for them.

Its one thing to charge for enhancements, but whats next? charging for each level? charging to allow you to play your own BGM?

Wow, they are dumb asses! I don't think a lot of people will be willing to pay for the game plus extra to play online multiplayer... that is a *****en rip off. You simply can't charge that much for a piece of ***** 2d arcade game. I hope they have fun trying to convince people to pay for that *****.

I'd glady pay full price for this game, being that the game is coming out at 1200 points, (15 bucks) I'd glad spring for the Ad-On, no problem.

I also have 3500 points I got from the last Verizon XBL promo ;)

I guess the SONY PS3 marketing is catching on!

Buy now at a steep price and then upgrade later for more $$$ to make it better.

I will buy the game for the asking $15, but I will not pay extra for the multiplayer option. If they charge for multiplayer, I will not buy it at all.

WTF is Lumines anyways? Looks like a gay rip off of tetris or the Hexic game. Who spends that much money on a puzzle game? And why?

# lumines is great like but.........Guest 2006-06-20 13:23
Why would you really wanna play it on a 360? It makes a great PSP game but im not sure about it on the 360.

I wont be buying it since I have it on the PSP unless the MP is mind blowing but lumines is really a 1 player game right????

It's the developers choosing the pricing point. MS only gives them a suggestion and it's upto them to use the suggested price or adjust it to what they feel is neccesary. If it comes to be that multiplayer costs extra well I'm going to have to do without the multiplayer part as I'm more into single player when it comes to puzzle games.

well i'm a huge lumines fan and am looking forward to this release but i dont agree with the idea of paying extra for multiplayer support. i never got how to play lumines fully until i started playing vs then i got hooked. I'm sure the live arcade one will be the same but i just hope q! make it under 15 including the vs for free.

I've played lumines on psp, pretty good game (a bit overated if you ask me) but the idea of paying an additional cost for multiplayer is simply stupid. I won't be buying it for sure.

This is just ridiculous! The PSP had multiplayer included (at an already insane price!) and now they want to sell it seperately to suck gamers' blood/money even more?

It's not just greedy it's worse than that.

I won't pay 15 Euros for that game which is probably the price

they are going to charge us here in euope -_-

And what then? Additional 5,6,7,8,9 or even 10 Euro/Dollar more for multiplayer? NO WAY

stop blameing ms for outragous marketplace content prices. they do not set the price nor do they make you buy it. you bought your console and got what you paid for. ms and other developers owe you nothing. however, that being said i do think this is greedy bull ***** from Q entertainment and ubisoft - the makers and price setters of the game.
