This is quite interesting. Do you remember The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay from its glory days on the original Xbox? We sure did have a lot of fun playing that back in 2004, and we're kind of thinking you did too. Given the game's first-person fighting style, stealth, and long-range combat, it really was remarkable.

Now, it should be remembered that developer Sweden-based Starbreeze Studios promised, on that same year, to come up with a sequel. Unfortunately, no sequel ever appeared.

But the Official Xbox Magazine (OXM), in its March 2007 issue, has something to say about Escape from Butcher Bay:

Wondering why The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay isn't backward-compatible with Xbox 360? There's a really good reason. You will get to play it on 360. In a form you probably wouldn't expect.

A form we wouldn't expect, eh? A sequel or a simple port or whatever? Are they talking about a fully downloadable game? We really have no idea and we guess that's OXM's intention. To tease us gamers and to stir the pot.

Care to give us a piece of your mind?

» sequel

a different company has probably picked it up and is making a sequel (hopefully). If that is true then I hope they dont ruin it, the first game was great fun back on the xbox. It needed some multiplayer though.

Xbox portable maybe, that would be unexpected.
