If you're looking for a prank that makes a lasting impression, you may want to take a cue from this family. Jonathan, a kid who apparently wanted an Xbox 360 for Christmas, was handed his Christmas gift by his parents: an Xbox 360...box. Thinking that the prized console lay waiting inside the packaging, Jonathan opened the Xbox 360 box only to find winter clothing stuffed inside.

Shocked and dejected, the boy was pushed into tears. Several people who watched the video footage of the prank sympathized with Jonathan, and even tech site Engadget offered to give him a console. However, it should be noted that the video description in Youtube somehow hints that he got the Xbox 360 in the end. We'll never really know for sure, as the confirmation video promised never went up.

Check out the video below to witness this particularly nasty prank.

» That was not cool.

I can't believe that they'd laugh it up and then try to justify it by claiming that they "can't afford xbox". Well, if you can't afford it, at least don't mess with the kid like that. The tears were just admitting the sad truth that he can't do anything about it.

» wtf...

omg, that's horrible... seriously... I can't even IMAGINE doing that to a random kid I don't know, let alone my own kid.... *sigh*..

Some parents seriously... SERIOUSLY... should rethink their actions... even if they DID give the kid a 360 afterwards, that's some emotional scarring right there...

God the whining in here is pathetic.

So what they played a joke on the kid and made him cry a little. Ppl do this all the damn time. And you act like itys brand new because itts posted on Youtube????

When i was a kid, my mom and sisters played a similar trick on me. on my Bday. I kept begging my mother for Super mario Bros 3. To the point of pure annoyance. So she decided to play a joke on me so i'd never beg again. To top it off, i did try to sneak a peak at my present by trying to be sneaky, and open the box and tape, in a way that you coudlnt tell it had been opened.

She anticipated this, because we i opened it half way enough to feel; inside the boz, i felt Clothing. I was so sad, and disapointed that when my bday came I was sad all day. And when present time came, i didnt even want to open it. My mother made me open it, and out popped a UGLY pair of thick pants. I was even more sad, and almost cried. My mother starte dlaughing, and said "try them on". I didnt want to. Then she yelled "try the damn pants on". So i did, and taped inside the pants was Super Mario Bros 3.

I was jumping for joy, yelling running around saying thank you thank you thank you. Kiss my mom, and went and played it all day.

Ppl say thi sstuff is sooooo cruel, you need to get over yourselves, and get off your high horse. If you think a prank like thi s will cause mental scares, you need therapy.

Uugh, liberal goody goodies get on my nerves sometimes.

» blah

it says on youtube that he did get a 360 after that. So yeah...

» LOL

That story's even funnier than the clip... "try the damn pants on" LOL! Well done to your mom and sisters!

Agreed though, the joy of receiving the present would out weigh the disappointment tenfold.

When the mom walked off, she was probably going to get the 360 from the cupboard or something.

Mess up someone's head... like to the point of wanting to repeatedly beat a box over someone's head, for example???

by thefinalhero - 2008-03-02 12:41
» What the hell...

I don't even like the 360, but I'd still be excited to get one. If my parents played a prank like that on me I'd flip.
