There's something new for Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. By new, we're saying in addition to the tournament and the great Xbox Live activity stats. The Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) let another proverbial cat out of the bag and revealed that new maps and game modes are coming to Rainbow Six.

Accordingly, a new "Rainbow Six Players Pack" will become available by the end of March that includes 10 new maps as well as two new game modes. OXM was a bit quiet about some of the details about the maps, but it did mention some of their names (Red Lotus, Wartown, Marshalling Yard, Neon Graveyard, Presidio).

Regarding the new game modes, the first one is called Assassination. Here, one player will be assigned as a VIP and all other players must protect that guy. In order to win, opposing teams must kill the other group's VIP. The next one is called Conquest and is rather reminiscent of Halo's Territories. The objective of this mode is for each team to control three pre-selected locations.

Furthermore, the estimated price for the new pack is around 800 points. There was no mention, however, if new equipment will be included.

Its about time! The game modes currently are tedious. Hopefully they fix some major lag and glitch issues. My console freezes once a night only on this game. now the question is will I be playing this long enough to give a crap....GRAW 2 is only 2 months away ofcourse.

» FINALLY!

Man, I've been waiting for this and I'm glad to read it's coming! Now I can keep my money in my pocket when it comes to GRAW2 and play Rainbow (much better cover system IMO) for another 6 months at least! You rock UBI!
