Yet another big RPG will grace Microsoft's Xbox 360, thanks to Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and his Mistwalker company. Lost Odyssey, the latest upcoming title for the box after Blue Dragon, harbors a strong western look reminiscent of early FF games; these new screens definitely prove that.
The images aren't even in high resolution, but environments are quite crisp and detailed. Character models are also pretty solid, complete with that medieval look. As usual, Sakaguchi managed to get his folks produce menacing monsters and intimidating bosses. Or at least, we'd like to believe that the big worm and other huge creatures aren't cannon fodder.
Lost Odyssey follows the story of Kaim, an immortal who's been living for a thousand years and still kicking. It doesn't come as a surprise that locations are varied - from dark temples to mountains with massive glaciers. What's the point of eternal life if you don't get to visit such beautiful places, anyway? Mistwalker succeeded in making locations breathtaking, anyhow.
