New Halo 3 info straight from Bungie

Halo 3It's great in a way that Bungie releases these "weekly updates". No need to check out 50 different sites for a scoop; and you get guaranteed updates. This week's update is another one of them goodies. There's a lot of Halo 2 to discuss.

The two first Halo installments set the great foundation Master Chief currently stands on. Arguably one of the best exclusive titles for the Xbox line, Halo 3 is indeed packing a barrel full of promise; fans simply can't get enough info about it.

And what a game it's turning out to be. Sift through all the marketing hype and you'll see that the world once again is waiting with bated breath. And we got ourselves a few great news. I'll quote Frankie from Bungie.net

"I have been playing through Campaign mode purely for kicks. Exploring, in fact. There's lots of the feel of the original Halo, where you'll find yourself in a huge (dangerous) and intrinsically fascinating environment and just want to go tool around and check things out.

At this stage in development, the encounters are very carefully placed. Sometimes that means you're in frantic firefights (on a significantly bigger scale than in Halo 2, although all I will confirm numerically is at least one more Grunt.) but there's also time for exploratory reflection and the, "Oooh, maybe I can climb up there and check that thing out," sort of play.

Don't get me wrong. It's not GTA - it's still Halo, but there's a bigger feeling scope to some of these levels that has me reminiscing about the original game. And yet, conversely, I'm super excited about the new stuff. Using the debug menu, I dropped in a couple of items of new equipment. Maybe theyÂ’re for killing, maybe theyÂ’re for getting around, maybe they're for both. Who's to say"

Hmm...The new equipment definitely should be some new vehicle. We just can't wait to cause carnage with it. Secondly, like they said, there's lots of the feel of the original Halo, which means that they've accepted that Halo 2 was missing something. Great, at least they know what they have to fix!

While Halo 3 is coming out, we're sure there's a large contingent of PC gamers who want to get their hands on Halo 2 on their PC. Stay tuned because they're gonna be releasing some info next week. So until then, keep waiting.

halo 2 is awesome. i bought halo 1 when it first came out but halo 2 was deffinaitly an imporvement in my opinion. notice i said OPINION. cause thats what it is an opinion. stop talking about wich one is greater as if it is a fact. people dont only play 2 for live. you can play 1 online and even if you couldnt, that doesnt change the fact that many of us enjoy halo 2.

***** you^^^

is it so hard to believe that you didnt like just because of all the hype and some of us intelligent people enjoyed it because we understood that it would not be perfect? Halo 2 is a great game, not as good as the first but still great.

to #8 theres no live for halo 1 or else it would probably be more successful than h2, I myself only play halo 2 because its popular and easy to find somebody to play with but everything else about the game is fairly medeocre

No, it's not easy to find games on XBC with Halo 1. I never see more than 20 games at a time, and most of them are dumb crap like CTF on Sidewinder with 3 people

And the PC version just sucks

Technically speaking H2 is an improvement over H1, but it just isn't as fun for some reason :(

And you all know it so stop trying to say it's a good game. Intelligent people know what a good game is and what a hope for a good sequel is

I love people who think their opinion is a fact. Its nice to see that everyone has an open mind to other people's opinions, and don't go around putting others down. Seriously a lot of people like halo 2 more than halo 1. But of course you don't feel that way and that is why you try to push your ideas on others. I myself have played both games campaigns about the same amount, but halo 2 just has much better multiplayer. Just think if Halo 1 was on live..... ah the complaining would never end cause in Halo 1 it was all about percision, and with the slight lag you get on live the pistol would have gotten weird and things would be strange. IMO i think the halo 1 pistol was too over powered and even though i loved using it I would rather have a bigger gun do the damage. All I am saying is a pistol should not win a battle with a sniper who is half way across the map. But really who cares what I think. Halo 3 will be awesome no matter what direction they take and lots of people will love it, if you don't then please don't whine and moan about it.

Im just sick of xbox fans saying that,( once halo 3 comes out, Its going to kill all the other systems) same for gears of war. but thats wrong because not everybody likes shooting games. I played halo I liked it but I've played better games. it was average.

Now it's true not everybody likes shooters. I however do but I'm not a big fan of racing games. I still play em I even have some but it's not like I sit down and say I want to play some racing... I only have them around in case some friends want to play em really
