After a seven-year hiatus from the Need for Speed series, Electronic Arts has announced that a ten-car Ferrari download content pack will be coming to Need for Speed: Shift this month.

Aside from the hot new cars that can also be taken online, the Ferrari Racing Series will also extend the games career mode with eight new racing events containing forty-six challenges designed specifically for the new cars. Completing the perfect Ferrari challenge will also reward you with 125 gamerpoints.

The Ferraris will include:

  • 1996 Ferrari F50 GT
  • 2005 Ferrari F430 Spider
  • 2005 Ferrari FXX
  • 2005 Ferrari Superamerica
  • 2006 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
  • 2006 Ferrari F430 Challenge (Online/Quick event only)
  • 2006 Ferrari F430 GTC (Online/Quick event only)
  • 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
  • 2008 Ferrari California
  • 2008 Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider

The DLC pack is now available on the Xbox 360 for US$ 10.00 or 800 Microsoft Points and will hit other platforms on February 16.

Its the underground series that was the turning point that caused NFS to turn into crap.

NFS's glory days were back with HP, HP2 etc.

Shift, while completely different was fun as hell and did a lot more to bring the series forward than those horrible street racer games.

I'm heavily interested to see what Criterion does with the series with their rumored hand in the next project.
