Raigan Burns and Mare Sheppard sat down for a quick interview with Gamasutra. These outspoken people gave their comments on how the Xbox Live Arcade is overwhelmed with quality issues of publisher-guided games.Burns said that he remembered talking with Microsoft about developing games for the XBLA two years ago. Since the service was relatively new, he thought that Live Arcade wouldn't be like retail because there were going to be small, great, fun things in it. What's really ironic now is that Xbox Live Arcade is now filled with big-budget games with big publishers making them.
Furthermore, Burns said that "the real problem, I think, is that the same people who are deciding what retail games get greenlit are deciding what Live Arcade games get greenlit." He added that decisions made by the big publishers are ruining Live Arcade.
Burns provided an example of this by saying racing games have saturated Live Arcade. The reason being is that the big publishers have "greenlit like ten really shitty racing games." Simply put, "there's no good racing games."
Last, Burns spoke his mind regarding the games found on Xbox Live Arcade's game. He said:
If I was a consumer, I could see not even looking at Live Arcade games anymore if I had downloaded 10 or 20 demos, because at a certain point, you're like, whatever. Maybe there's a good game in here.

I've purchased 2 titles they dissed, Pinball FX and UNO. These a 2 titles I like to play to chill out and wind down sometimes after work or late at night. I think MS has it spot on that arcade is about bit size gaming. If you want an ultra in depth superbly crafted masterpiece of gaming, go to the store and buy a retail title.
N+ has done pretty well now. MS greenlit that project, they must be doing something right.
