Forza Motorsport 2 confirmed European release date - Image 1It's beginning to become "rumors-are-not-rumors-after-all" day. We learned earlier today that Blizzard Entertainment is indeed working on StarCraft 2 and it will be released this coming May 19 on the Games for Windows (PC) platform.

Over at the Xbox 360 front, Microsoft Game Studios just confirmed that Forza Motorsport 2 will be available in UK starting June 8. A couple of days ago, retail chains Amazon and Play.com listed the Turn 10-developed racing title under a similar release date.

It should be remembered that Microsoft refused to comment on the matter at that time. But now, it is more than happy to talk about it. In fact, Game Director Dan Greenawalt commented:

The added horsepower of Xbox 360 has allowed us to re-define what it means to be a racing simulator with Forza Motorsport 2. We've turned mountains of real world raw data into a living, breathing simulator where the only difference between the game and reality is that youÂ’re racing from the comfort and safety of your living room.

Forza Motorsport 2 is exclusive to Xbox 360 and is actually a sequel to Forza! The new video game title sports more than 300 cars as well as an improved customization level. The game will hit U.S. shelves on May 29.
