Motorola being sued by Microsoft for unreasonable royalties over Xbox 360 technology

Microsoft is up in arms against telecommunications giant, Motorola, allegedly because it "broke its promise" on the patent licensing for the technology included in the Xbox 360. Because Motorola charged Microsoft "royalties that are excessive and discriminatory" - meaning that MS has to pay more than other companies for the same technology - Microsoft has now filed suit in a Federal Court in Seattle.

The technology that is the subject of this lawsuit would be the Xbox 360's WLAN capabilities, where the console is able to connect to a network wirelessly, as well as its diplay capacity of videos running in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec.

All that Microsoft is asking is for Motorola to lower down the royalties charged upon them at a rate that they deem reasonable. This, of course, is on top of the damages for Motorola's alleged breach of contract.

Why is Micro$oft suing Motorola just because Motorola broke their promise? HUH!? Whta a bunch of hypocrites Mirco$oft are! Micro$oft paid Square Enix to break their promise and make Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360 so it would ben a multiplatform game! Final Fantasy XIII was going to be PS3 exclusive! But because of Micro$oft it went multipllatform! Micro$oft deserves to have their promises broken!

So you're saying that if you were in a contract with someone saying that they will only get a certain amount from you that you would be fine if they charged you double instead?

And where did it ever say FF XIII was going to be Sony exclusive?
