i've had my 360 since February, i think... i got a good price at the time, but you have to be prepared to hear that the same thing is going to cost a lot less in the future. i look at it as, did i get my money's worth for the last several months? (take price difference, divide by number of months between purchase and price drop) ... i definitely have. one thing i would be upset about is if they come out with a new version and suddenly my xbox dies or something because of problems they've now fixed...

Wont happen.

There wont be a price drop thats just stupid. The Ps3 is already $500-$600 why would they need to do a price drop. There system is already $100-$200 dollars cheaper.

its not stupid its console strategy all consoles drop prices after a year or so. microsoft wont be loosing anymore money or making any on their cosoles,but a 100$ price cut would kill sony unless they lower their price aswell (wich they wont).

it doesnt matter

if you walk into a store to buy a ps3/wii and they are out of stock , you will not buy a 360 because it has an enticing price tag, you already have set your mind in getting a ps3 or wii. what am trying to say is that the 360 has been out for awhile now, if i wanted one, i would have bought one, money is not the problem.

price drop

price drop is the biggest joke I have ever heard. MSFT's console is already way cheaper than the ps3. No doubt they will be able to cut their own costs, so that they don't loose as much money as they currently do at their price point. I bet you infinity dollars that their cost cut will not translate into a price drop.

Everyone knows that with lower priced console, more people will buy in. especially around christmas time. Sony fanboyz will pay their $600 plus a few hundred $ for games and acessories and be stoked until it looses support like 3dO or dreamcast because of the price point. They'll end up buying the 360 and the Wii because they just cant get the amount of games that will be available. Plus their "friends" will be playing 360 or Wii, because they were smart enough to avoid the PS3.

the ps3 can only do so much, yea it has raw power in numbers, big whoop. unless game developers plan on devoloping something stricly mathematical, then the cell's spe's wont awe me in the least. and to those sony fanboys hating on the 360's hardware, go back to blowing a sony exec under the desk, the 360's software does what it has to do and doesnt try and sell u a super computer for something as basic as games. and i till this day, still prefer the dreamcast over the ps2's graphics any day. wii and 360 this xmas
