Modern warfare 2 shatters another Xbox Live record

Despite being hounded by negative press lately due to internal issues surrounding the studio and encountering various problems when the map pack was released, it looks like Modern Warfare 2 is still unfazed by the competion as Microsoft has announced today last week's release of the Stimulus Package has shattered another Xbox Live records as more than one million gamers worldwide has downloaded the new map pack within the first twenty-four hours of release, and surpassing the 2.5 million mark within the first week.

Released last week, the Stimulus Package extends the multiplayer experience of the latest action-pack title with the addition of five maps. Microsoft's press release also added another remarkable numbers:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have invested more than 1.75 billion hours of gameplay on Xbox LIVE alone since the title's release in November, which is equal to more than 200,000 years of gameplay playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package is currently available only on the Xbox 360, with the PS3 and PC released soon. According to to Robert Bowling tweet:

The PS3 will be getting the map pack, double xp weekends and all the other goodness as well. I'll have dates soon.

MW2 MAPS...ARE GOOD! but the mw2 gameplay requires alot more camping to win, I guess its a good way to make (force) ppl to work in teams more.

MW1 gameplay differs as it was aimed at a more hardcore audience, you had to have a lot of skill to succeed, more fast paced....

These days game developers want to make it easier for the ppl who arn't as skilled (noobs) so they can enjoy it as much as anyone else... but usually it can mess up a game... eg. Gears of war 2 & UT3 = fail lol.

I just hope they aim to make games more about having skill, rather than trying to make it easier for ppl that don't bother learning the game.

NO doubt game developers are making games easier play and enjoy for everyone with easy learning curves, especially FPS and Action-adventure games, since the gameplay of those are very simple.

If you want a game about skills then i suggest RTS games such as Starcraft, Warcraft, Red Alert , Command and Conquer, and many others, these games have a much stepper learning curve and noobs mess up the game even more in these especially when its your teammate...

MAG is the only game that comes to mind (I play it all the time though) that I confidently say that it is one of the hardest FPS games out this gen.

What? thats the complete opposite of truth.
did you stop playing cod4 2 years ago and are now relying on distorted memories??

mw2 is harder to stay alive
mw2 is without a doubt the most fast paced.. these are not even arguable!

I swear 1/4 of the people that complain about this game just go by what other people say...
well probably 99.9% and the left overs are the couple of pc gamers left that actually have genuine reason to complain.
