The titles in question are Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV and THQ's Saints Row. So it's been said that Saints Row is actually a GTA rip-off. But you can't appreciate that statement, no matter how much your gut-feel may agree, without seeing actual comparative evidence. And that is what we have for you exactly. It's actually fun watching the vid. Seeing how stunningly alike the scenes are, you can't help but feel like you're having some kind of epiphany.

Saints row characters look soooooo much better. I hope GTA characters look at least as good by the time its out. I mean for a game thats not due out till october the character looks a bit ps2...
Well you can tell GTA IV Trailer wasn't shot in REAL-TIME gameplay, and Saints Row looks much better. Saints Row is coming to the PS3 though so it will be interesting to see how the graphics differ, so it will be a fresh make when it comes out on PS3, and only then can you compare it to GTA IV.
Rockstar has said several times that all the fotage in the Ttrailer is all in-game. And I dont know whether you've played Saints row but I can promise you that GTA IV looks way better.
And anyway it hardly matters if the graphics are that much better when I'm sure the style/humour/music/level design etc will be way better.

did you actually see what the rest of us saw? the vids of gta were incomparable with saints row....the graphics and characters all looked beyond that of saints row dude.
they've said it over and over again that the footage was all in-game. now I can see clearly...and what I see is the graphics, lighting, and realism of gta been way ahead that of saints row. my two cents
The article says that Saints Row is the rip off, right? Then why are they comparing a released version of Saints Row to an Unreleased GTA?
DUMBEST COMPARISON EVER. That would show that the latest GTA is moving more towards what Saints Row has pushed in the next gen graphics department.
However, I do believe the statement that SR is a GTA clone - but this went about it the wrong way!
GTA4 will definitely look better, but the main character model needs some work. His clothes seem "pasted on".

gta looks far better than saint row and crackdown.
But we hardly saw anything. this was a teaser, ther is lots more to come.
Rockstar said it is video capured from a next gen consol running in 720p. (i bett you it was a 360)
saints row on ps3 should look the same as 360. The HDR lighting might look different but thats it.
nothing but talk about graphics, i want to see how gameplay compares to that of saints row not graphics, i could care less about who has the better graphics
GTA4 looks ALOT better, especially in the lighting department.

But usually when the other game comes to the other console the graphics somtimes get worse.

I think (so far) Saint's Row's Art Style is better than GTA IV and the character models seem more realistic.
BUT GTA IV has a lot more details in the scenery than Saint's Row does.
I'd say they are about equal for now.
