Microsoft: Xbox 360 Twitter and Facebook apps out before Christmas as separate downloads |
Ó

Those of you who are into social networking stuff may have been looking forward to the upcoming Twitter and Facebook apps for the Xbox 360. Here's some good news for you then: Microsoft has revealed that you'll be enjoying both apps before Christmas.
According to Microsoft's James Halton, both apps are coming along fine and will be made available this fall. When asked to narrow it down further, all he said was that they will be released before Christmas.
Halton also explained that the Twitter and Facebook apps will launch as separate downloads instead of being part of another dashboard update. That last bit should somewhat serve to appease those who would rather not have these apps as part of their dashboards.

Facebook on the 360 is more invites to the annoying little punk kids invading XBL. XBL should have an age limit of 18 and older.
Facebook wasn't meant for "annoying little punk kids". It was used by college students, and now high schoolers. Anyone under shouldn't use it. And besides, no one is going to join xbox live just for facebook....
I for one look forward to it
Great idea. Eliminate the majority userbase of XBL by having an age limit of 18, or people who don't have jobs and have the most free time. Best business decision ever!
....Christ...Maybe an IQ limit for XBL would be the most reasonable way....
While I love the idea, im pretty sure it would elminate more users than an age limit would :(
I hate Twitter, I never want my dash to even say twitter on it. Glad this is an optional dl
This is as stupid as the MSN Messenger on the 360. Just use your pc for facebook like everyone else.
the bottleneck is the use of Facebook because it's pseudo-adult-oriented
it won't harm the Live userbase since you just "shouldn't" be able to use it if you're not in high school
