Xbox Live logo - Image 1Just a few days ago, we reported on an update Microsoft was implementing on Gamerscores - Microsoft explained that new game releases were required to carry a minimum of 1,000 Gamerscores, with a further 250 points available online either as free or payable content.

Xbox Live Arcade received a similar update, with games now required to carry 200 earnable points, and a further 50 attained via add-on content.

But while these three were focused on boosting the amount of achievement points gamers may receive from their games, Microsoft has updated the list with two more rules. This pair will be focusing more on Achievement Points moderation:
  • The first rules deals with purchasable content usable in Multiplayer battles. Microsoft has dictated that any content that gives players a competitive advantage in multiplayer battles must be included in the game as free unlockable content. This is said in light of any unfair advantage buyable content may have provided for particular players in multiplayer-intensive games like Chromehounds.
  • The second rule is more of a guideline, and will be more focused on the developers. Microsoft will now be relaying feedback they receive on multiplayer achievements to the game title's concerned developers. This was done so to provide a developers with a better degree of awareness regarding how gamers feels about how their achievements implementation.
