Microsoft UK: Wii limited, Xbox 360 defines next-gen

Microsoft UK's senior regional director of the entertainment and devices division Neil Thompson, known for criticising competitors in the video game industry, did just so recently, telling MCV UK that the Wii won't last long because of expandability limitations. He also believes the Xbox 360 defines "what a next generation console should look like and how people should think about it."

Thompson did admit that Microsoft wasn't innovative enough last generation, but thinks the industry giant has been the "innovative force" this time. Nintendo, as he sees it, is doing very well and managed to expand the market, but "there is a limit in terms of what you can do with Wii."

He gave Ninty credit for looking at what consumers want and offering them something unique, something Microsoft learned and manifested by releasing two SKUs. Even while skeptic about the Wii's future, he continued:

They looked at something which isn't being offered and that's probably kept them in the business, where many people perhaps thought they couldn't last beyond the last generation because the technology has been evolved.

Thats not true, Wii is very much a big hit more so than 360 currently and thats fact. They have sold more consoles in 9 months than any other console in video game history. Nintendo is very much innovative than MS xbox, all it is is a xbox 1 with some higher specs, which they added on. PS3 definitely defines the term Next gen, They completely changed there whole console from scratch and its definitely The most superior system this gen. The scary thing is, its current graphics are basically the same if not a little better to 360 and devs hasn't even tapped into all of the PS3 and cell potential....scary huh.

This is all true and non of it is a fanboy or fan rant. While yes some 360 specs are a little better right now to PS3, its clearly not superior or defines next gen systems. Sorry Neil i know your a part of MS but don't bring this fanboy company a.s.s kisser rant, not only is it stupid but shows your ignorance.
