Microsoft to replace AC adaptors for the Xbox 360 steering wheel for free - Image 1Microsoft has given word that they will be providing owners of the Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel with a free retrofit. This move was sparked by a few incidents in which the wheel component of the item would actually overheat and release smoke.

So far, there has been no reported incidents of fire, personal injury, or personal damage due to this malfunction. However, it would be best not to tempt fate and use the current AC-DC power supply that came with the product. It was also suggested that battery power be used as an alternative at least until the owners are able to obtain the replacement units from Microsoft.

If you have the wireless wheel and want to register for the free retrofit, head on over to the Microsoft Xbox360 support page through our Read Link.

what about headsets

I have had my 360 for a little over a year and my headset microphone broke. The speaker still worked though. May be due to my rough treatment of it, I would bend the hell out of the rubber part of it to move it out of my field of view when playing Gears. I recently replaced it for $20. Have any of you out there had a similar problem? If so, maybe we can get microsoft to give us our money back for having to replace it.

LMAO so you admit to treating your headset bad and after its warranty time runs out and you still want a replacement LOL. And the joker below called sasd, they will proberly stop the same time Sony sorted out its ps2 dvd drive millions of failure rate problems because it was so far ahead of its time.............

Another crap Sony product

Yes just like my PS3 pad had to be replaced right so now I should only buy 3rd party PS3 accessories Right !, oh and I had an argument with my girlfriend and she broke my PS3 should Sony replace it for free ?.

but is supposed to bend

Well, the rubber portion is supposed to bend. I don't know why it failed, but yes, it is funny. Kind of hypocritical of me. lol

???

LMAO, if your girlfriend broke your PS3 controller, it's your fault for not getting her a vibrator. At least tell her your PS2 controller was in the closet idiot. As far as I know, no PS3 controller has broken so you must be delusional. The XBlowx711 headset, steering wheel, and system itself is defective. They should really pay the Japs to produce their stuff for them instead of the Chinx.

Stealth and his posts etc

That SPECTRE does he read peoples posts or just type any anti 360 rubbish he can think of?. He didnt say his girlfriend broke his controller he said it had to be replaced so it must of went wrong, and the bit about his girlfriend is obviously sarcasm. Try reading posts before putting your pointless replies because I think you will find when people read a post in your name they just ignore it and go down to the next one. The first 360s had overheating problems but sadly for SPectre MS have hounered this with an amazing 3 year warranty from this defect so no one can go wrong as they have a guaranteed 360 for the next 3 years and that will run out about the time the next gen of consoles are released. I rember the PS2 DVD DRIVE OF DEATH millions had to be replaced but I dont rember them giving an extended 3 year warranty though so why even bother mentioning problems that are now in the past, or if you do the you should also mention the PS2 as it is also still in production

ROFL "gav"

So you're the one who is posing as me. Anyhow, there is no "PS2 DVD DRIVE OF DEATH". Google it. If there were, every DVD player on earth would kill everyone once the DVD is put into the DVD player. Why bother with sarcasm when you're online? Not everyone has that sense of humor. Just take a look at that 14 year old noob who went to an XBlowx711 forum to get help regarding his system overheating. FOMG, he zapped himself after tossing that piece of garbage in some water while it was still on. Genius. You state that people don't read my posts, but you obviously did. What I said must have had an effect on insecurity as an XBlowx711 hailer in order for you to bash me. So before you run your mouth, you might want to think a second about what you're trying to convey. I've stated time and time again that Sony profited from selling/replacing defective systems. If you don't know by now, Sony and Nintendo are the only ones who has had lucrative success, while M$ is still losing money in the video games department. The 3 Year warranty (NOT AMAZING) is EXCLUSIVE to the RRoD and nothing else, so the 1 year warranty still stands. The $1.3 billion spent on warranty extensions only sets M$ back. I do read, and davis stated that his girlfriend broke his PS3 controller. I replied. And yes, Sony should replace it since it was their fault for not including the vibration feature in the controller. Thanks. Your last paragraph made no cents. (If you had a sense of sarcasm, you would get that) The PS2 had that problem, and guess what, it still outsells the XBlowx711 today. Yes it's still in production and M$ only hopes to try and emulate Sony's success. M$'s recent losses will cause it to lose its market share while THAT never happened to Sony's PS2. What is your point? Your grammar is horrible, and I don't care if this is the "Internet" or not, you need some serious help. Here are some tips for you: Two spaces ( ) are used after periods (.), not paragraphs. You need to learn how to use punctuation in the right places in order for anyone to understand what you're talking about, such as commas (,), semi-colons (;), and exclamation points (!). WTF is that? => "of?."
