Microsoft to announce 3D plans at E3? |

A few industry players have theorized that 3D may take center stage from motion gaming at this year's E3, but so far, only Sony and Nintendo have been vocal in the playing field. That, however, is about to change.
Up until now, Microsoft hasn't been big on 3D talks. Sony has just started their first steps with the 3D patches for their PSN releases, while Nintendo has the 3DS.
According to Blitz Games Studios co-founder Andrew Oliver, Microsoft, too, is readying for the 3D battleground. "3D does take a bit of extra work," said Oliver at the Westminster eForum in London earlier. "Microsoft are going to be making an announcement about it at some point soon."
It's not pretty far-fetched for Microsoft to join the 3D race in this year's E3, and with purchase intent for motion gaming not doing so hot, E3 2010 might indeed have 3D on the spotlight.

Realize that the gamers want a lot of things you don't offer did you MS?

So I'm assuming M$'s are gonna be just as expensive as Sony's, I'm also assuming 35-$40 is too much...

Anyway, if you think Sony is overpriced, why is the PS3 selling at a loss, currently maybe not, but for 3 years it did. Explain that XBOX fanboys..

HDMI 1.3 works with 3D and apparently according to spec sheet can do everything HDMI 1.4 can do except ethernet channel. HDMI 1.2 not so much.
Either that or a post processor to sell as an add-on might work.

I guess the 360 could do 3D over HDMI 1.2, but the games would need to have a very low native resolution (probably lower than Alan Wake's 960x540). I can't see MS adding a newer HDMI version to the 360 now. They missed the boat and I don't see them selling another 40M units by the time this generation ends.
