Microsoft to allow transfer of selected PC content to Xbox 360 through Live |

Microsoft seems to be loosening up with their strict and stringent rules with Xbox Live. Though they won't break the rules, they will bend it a bit to allow transfer of user generated content from the PC to the Xbox 360 for some games. The catch is that the transfer will run through the publisher's servers instead of Microsoft's Xbox Live, thereby making the publishers the accountable party. Publishers will be using the Xbox Live Silver Platform to facilitate the transfer.
The point was clarified during a Q&A session in Gamefest, when it was asked whether a developer could construct a playable level on the PC and transfer it on the 360. Zsolt Mathe, Microsoft Software Design Engineer responded by saying "Even though nobody has done that, I would highly recommend that."
Although Microsoft will still get to choose which games will be able to make use of the newly relaxed rules, it still presents a lot of opportunities and breathing room for developers, as this will allow for PC generated mods.
Microsoft loosening up on the policies for Xbox Live, though, is made up for with their stringency on which games and content are allowed to use the process. Whether Unreal Tournament III will be able to take advantage of this has not been clarified or even hinted at yet.

It would be orgasmic if they got some cross platform play between the PS3, pc, and the x-box. That would make for a great way for fanboys to take out their aggression on one another.

(At least I THINK that the three versions will be running the same physics engine/video engine/sound engine to make it work)
If its pretty much the same version of UT3 on all platforms, same engines, it is possible to see this happening.
*: What I mean by dedicated servers, it's like how EA games does it for their sport games, you connect to their servers and work a little outside of xbox live but you still connect to other xbox/360's so I think your idea could work.

2. Bioshock is overrated....I got bored 10 minutes into it
3. Sending my 360 back to MS is like getting ass raped repeatedly
4. The Zune.....:(
5. Windows Vista
All the crap that MS keeps serving it's loyal users is indication that regulating content on the 360 is what is gonna keep mods from happening. Just another poke in your ass by the Billion dollar microsoft corporation!

AND BIOSHOCK is boring! The graphics aren't even as good as Gears of War!

And you don't have to pay for repairs, there's a three-year warranty, and the 360 hasn't been out that long

2. That's because you have ADHD
3. It took my brother one week to send it in and get it back. And he got an extra 20GB hardd rive with it. Ass raped, hardly
4. Zune > iPod, seriously that thing is $250+ and doesn't even have a f*ckin radio? POS
5. Windows Vista > your pathetic existence, seriously I'm sure 99% of the people who rag on Vista have never even used it, they just think it's cool. I've been using it for over two months now and can play all my old games (ones from the early 90s, even some that didn't work on XP) just fine. Nothing gives me a problem.
Also, unlike you, I actually have used more than one OS, those others being both Mac and Linux. Linux is pretty good, and much better than Windows if you know how to use it, but Mac blows hard. There is nothing I can do on a Mac that my Windows PC can't do, and my Windows machine can do it faster to boot (same hardware)
