Microsoft: There are no plans to introduce Blu-ray to Xbox 360 - Image 1It was only yesterday when it was revealed that Sony U.S. Electronics President Stan Glasgow was discussing matters with Microsoft that would allow the latter to have a Blu-ray add-on for the Xbox 360.

While representatives from big MS and its video games division were quick to deny such talks, the rumor has already spread around the Internet like wild fire.

It is in light that a spokesperson found it necessary to reiterate their stance on the subject. "There are no plans to introduce Blu-ray," said the Microsoft representative.

He then went on and added that their current plans right now is to provide quality games for users and not on the system's movie playback capabilities. All of this talk began when Toshiba announced that it would drop support for the HD DVD format, an act that changed the tide of the format war in favor of the Blu-ray side.

"There are no plans" is industry-speak for "we're seriously considering it but haven't signed the contract yet".

So what MS is essentially saying: "If you want a relatively cheap Blu Ray player, it's OK to go ahead and buy the PS3 because we're going to just screw over all the 360 people. It's much easier that way!"

dont ever for a second stop loving that box,.

I am a former 360 owner. I now own a ps3. but I tell you in truth the 360 is a great console. it has great games. games the ps3 doesnt have. halo3, bioshock, gears of war, eternal sonata, and ninja gaiden 2 in the future. the 360, is a great console. and im only a former owner because my 360 died. yes I admit mine red ringed. but. that doesnt make the games the 360 has not good. the 360 has a great line up. the kind of line up the ps3 wishes it had.

I challange you to name one high profile title on the ps3? and I dont mean ' good" I mean a system seller. like metal gear solid 4, god of war 3 or final fantasy 13.

all games ps3 ownsers should be playing right the **** now, but no we are still waiting for something good to happen, the damned ps3 is the psp all over a ****ING gain.

we will end up waiting and waiting and waiting till the damned thing flops and then nothing sony can throw at us will save the damned thing.

cherish your 360. at least it has damned games to play.

*Disgruntled ps3 owner..

Next time you plan to bash on the PS3, just drop the 'My X360 died and I now bought a PS3'-act.

When you want to bash the PS3, go ahead, do so, don't try to cover your ass by saying you own a PS3.

As for eternal sonata, coming to PS3 with extra content ;) So there we go, +1 game for your game library.

Also, which good games did the Xbox360 get in its first year ?

I'm fine with you bashing on the PS3, but please, don't go making it sound that the PS3 will never have good games etc etc, you are just being ignorant.

this is not some pety fan boy lie.

before calling someone ignorant, did it ever occure to you, that a ps3 fan could be pissed about the fact the metal gear solid 4 a game that was originaly supposed ot be a launch title is way over due. and the only options for a good rpg are oblivion, the only only action game worth having is heavenly sword, and by the way my proof is

psn ID ShadowprophetS

any ps3 fan boy that wants to chek into that may send me a request and be bedazzled by getting their precious ps3 bashed right in there message box,,

*poof be gone,

You got me all wrong there, I don't care if you actually have a PS3 or not. It's just that all you see is:

" I'm no fanboy, I own a PS3/Xbox360, but *insert rant* "

And this is starting to piss me off, I'm sorry that I labeled you as one of these people, well actually I'm not, but i'm just being semi-polite here.

And saying that the PS3 will never have good games because of some over due titles is quite the far stretch, look at the crap titles the PS2 had to endure in its first year.

If we're not counting only exclusives, Call of Duty 2, Dead Rising, Oblivion, GRAW, RB6:V, Splinter Cell, Saints Row and Gears of War, to name a few. Amazing first year

But I agree with your post below, the PS2 had terrible sh*t games its first year and went on to be one of the greatest consoles ever, with the largest games library in existence. The PS3 will have it's time

That argument would have worked if the PS3 was still in it's first year. The PS3 is well into it's second year and is still producing ***** games.
