It's refreshing to hear something from Aaron Greenberg that doesn't involve any lashing out against Sony. Putting aside the mudslinging for today, the Microsoft Xbox product manager responds to the rumored line-up they supposedly have for their E3 press conference. Speaking to Eurogamer, Greenberg explains:

I can confirm that this post is completely uninformed and does not even come close to matching our news for E3. You can't believe everything you read, but it is fun to see people trying to guess what will be shown at the show and we are excited to share our real news with everyone on June 1st.

It strikes me weird that he'd use "completely uninformed." That presupposes that the list is completely bunked, wouldn't it? Meaning no Alan Wake at the very least? Aww, please, no... I'll give it though: the whole "MGS4+Oxide big finale" thing is a bit way off base, but the rest of the line up seems plausible. Halo ODST? Splinter Cell: Conviction? Even the upcoming GTA4 DLC?

Well, if Greenberg says the list is not close to what the have in store, that leaves two directions of departure from here. Either their press con will be way more overwhelming than what's already on that rumored list. Orrr. it can go the other way, with Microsoft presenting an underwhelming lineup. Let's hope for the former.

E3 isn't all that far away now, folks. Remember the schedule! Microsoft's press con happens on June 1, 9:00 a.m. PST.

Did anyone really believe that post? That guy claimed he was playing Alan Wake and a review copy of All Points Bulletin... 'nuff said

well we all know MS is great at hyping ***** up...and failing to live up to it. Ill be surprised if they have anything thats half as good as GOW3 or Uncharted2

now people will say they never believe him, but at the time of the rumor they were sure MGS4 + O was going for 360...now they will say: "I Knew it" or something like that

» Most of it probably is true

Except for all the stuff that isn't lol. Most of what that guy posted was stuff anyone could guess will be at E3 and probably be right. Obviously Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Halo ODST and the new GTA DLC will be at the show, along with that new motion device (seems legit, way too many reputable sources backing it up for it to be a total lie)

He just took that and threw in MGS4 and crap about playing games that won't be out till 2010 to get pageviews

» hmm

I mean, I understand the guy trying to hype people up about the real announcements to come, but the way he said that this can't even come close, kinda disses all those games. I could actually picture the whole MGS +oxide thing though. The trailer would show "Foxdie" and then the I and the D would flip around and then the F would become the plus. yaaa..... I'm waiting for Sony's big news. If any of the hardware speculation (PS3 slim, price cut, PSP Go!) comes true then that's gonna be awesome.
