Microsoft remains confident of Halo 3 despite mixed reviews of beta |

That was Microsoft Game Studios">Shane Kim, head of Microsoft Game Studios, on their biggest venture for the year, Bungie's Halo 3. This, despite of the mixed reviews from gamers who got to try out the game at the Beta test. From the preview, statements like, "The graphics can use some work... they're not much different than the previous Halo..." surfaced, surprisingly.
Why is it a surprise? Because considering all the hype surrounding Halo 3, you'd think people who managed to get their hands on that elusive invitation to the beta will come out gushing and raving about it. Apparently, not everyone is up for gushing and raving.
But never mind all that. Fact is, they still have some time to get everything polished before the autumn release. Fact is, Master Chief is so much of an icon that people will want to buy an Xbox 360 if only for him. Fact is, Microsoft remains confident that it will be able to live up to the hype, and that at the end of the day, people will affirm that Halo 3 is, indeed, a great buy.
Kim exudes this confidence once again. "There's a significant number of people for that one game, and this is the game."
We shall all soon see if Kim has every right and reason to be this self-assured.

Who cares about the graphics. The game play is the main thing, which so many explosions and things happen at once it run smooth.

It doesn't matter if it looks and plays exactly like Halo 2 Microsoft knows what they're doing, everyone who gives it a bad review is obviously just Myamoto and Sony execs in disguise trying to down the game. metal gear way better that does not make sense halo and metal gear are two different games plus that is just your opinion, second the last metal gear I think sold 3 plus million worldwide, halo 1 sold 5 plus million, halo 2 sold 7 plus million, with all the sales of the xbox 360 so far halo 3 will sell at 10 million units guaranteed.
If you care about badass gameplay with a s*itload of things going on at once and a silky smooth framerate, play Halo. If you want good graphics above all else in a half assed rush job game with almost no gameplay options, play motorstorm. Look up monopoly in a dictionary. Doesn't really apply to Microsoft, does it? If Microsoft never existed, some other company, probably much more evil, would be doing the exact same thing ya know? Is donating millions to prevent the spread of aids evil?

Metal Gear 4 will go to the XBOX 360 because Konami can't even make back their development costs selling to a measely 3 million PS3 user base. Sony's just making Konami wait a couple months after the PS3 release to announce it so they can still sell maybe another million PS3s before they have to do a PS3 price cut.
LOL MGS is not even out until 2008, so how do you know its going to be better?, look at the sales for the Halo games they crush MGS sales and this one has 4 million preorders already, not only that Halo also sells a lot of consoles to.

You are not even getting the point here, right now bungie is calm like never before because they only need to throw a game with the name of halo in it to sell millions, look what happen to halo 2 it sold like hell but the main campaign was pure cr**ap, kill the monkey in the end what the hell was that?, and right now is still selling because of the multiplayer, they totally forgot what make that game so greath from the first halo, the first doesn't have online multiplayer, that game was greath because of the campaign, and now they are throwing us the sooo big halo3 and it looks like halo 2.5, but then again the will sell like cr**ap because only for the pure name not for whats in it, i will give you a perfect example of that, dragon ball z series pure cr**ap but they sell good only because of the name, right now bungie has us eating from their palm of their hands.
MGS? I've played them all. I've beaten them all. Truth is, after you play though MGS story once, you're done with it. I'm STILL playing Halo 2. I found the single player aspect to be superior to MGS, it's more of a game and less of a movie. And the MP kept me coming back. When you're no longer a pre-teen, you'll understand. MGS story is god awful. Really terrible. Especially MGS 2.
um how do mgs sales get crushed by halo? mgs2 sold 7 million do research and mgs3 sold about 3-4 million. halo has sold equal to its and i loved halo 1 alot. halo 2 had bad gameplay but great multiplayer
At this moment there are already over 4 million preorders. (I just wanted to point that out) Anyway A LOT of people will buy this game for many reasons: Great story, awesome music, epic environments, awesome online gameplay, downloadable content, and an online community that will flourish for years to come. I havent seen anything like that on the Wii, or PS3 yet, and it wont happen soon. :P

I doubt half these people even have a 360, never mind Live, inferring that Live isn't worth it based on comments on f*ckin QJ.net is just stupid. Sure, you will find tons of screaming kids on Halo, but I never got what the whole big deal is. It takes ten seconds to mute them. And I have yet to come across someone like that on any 360 Live game. You will get the occasional douche on Gears, but other than that I have had no problems with the people on R6:V, GRAW,, CoD etc
Yea, because Final Fantasy isnt on its 11th rehash. Because Metal Gear isnt on its 4th rehash, because all those drones you speak of didnt run out and buy God Of War 2... Now i'm all for the Sony kicking Microsoft's ass, but......at the same time i am a hardcore halo player.Like they said it's not always about killer graphics.Gameplay ties alot into the game.You could have a gorgeous game but if the gameplay suck then so does your game.Major League Baseball 2k7 is a prime example.Can't wait for the launch of this game.That's not to say that i'm can't also wait for Killzone 2 for ps3.Anxious to use that new laser cannon.In two day the beta launches.If you don't have an invite then see if a game retailer has the original copy of Crackdown so you can get the invite.
Halo 2 didn't push shooter sales in Japan you ducsh bag.Only shooter to do that so far was Gears of War.Probaly Resistance: FOM but if Microsoft new what they were doing then since they own the rights to Rare then they would've already have come out with Killer Instinct by now.That game screams remake for next gen.

I wasn't even gonna bother with this guy, but now it seems other people have done it for me. The only thing I can agree with you on is the Madden thing, that game goes virtually unchanged in every area with each new release, whoever buys every Madden game every year needs to kill themselves now. And actually, for a FPS, Halo changes quite a bit between releases. Halo 2 is nothing like Halo 1, and if you say otherwise I'd have a tough time believing you've played either game. Halo 3 will not be like Halo 2, and that is very apparent just from videos
I can't really understand how you people are downplaying the hard work Bungie did on Halo 2. How *****ing pathetic of you people. You have no idea how *****ing hard they worked to get a game that was as successful as Halo. According to all of the professional gaming review sites and magazines, Halo 2 was a 10/10. Clearly, you simple people don't understand what you're talking about. Please think about what you're talking about. From the new features that have been seen in the release videos, they are not making another rehashed game. Some of you idiots haven't even played the game and you're already calling it Halo 2.5. It's you ungreatful pigs that ***** things up for everyone. Give Bungie a break. They've created two amazing games. So much innovation in Halo and much more in Halo 2. It's a one of a kind game. Their supreme matchmaking multilayer, and the magnificent story line. What has MGS done? A game with a *****ty camera, stealth, and a story so convoluted, I don't even take the time to figure out what's going on.
