Microsoft refunds overpriced Braid |
That was honest, Microsoft. If you were one of those who bought Braid as Microsoft's Deal of the Week on XBLM last February, then you'll sure be glad to know that MS has refunded (*GASP!!!*) -- yes, refunded gamers for over-billing it. Welcome back home, my MS Points. I missed you so.Get this, though. Not only are they refunding back the 400 points that were overecharged by the "technical glitch", they'll also be throwing in an extra 100 points "for your loyalty".
If you're one of those people who should get a refund, you'll be getting this message:
Dear Xbox LIVE Gold Member:
We launched Deal of the Week program on Feb 23rd, 2009 as an added benefit to your Gold membership and we are very excited to see the overwhelming response we have received from our loyal users such as you.
As a result of the increased transactions we know that you experienced an intermittent Xbox LIVE issue, which resulted in you being charged full price of 1200 points for the ‘Braid' deal instead of the discounted price of 800 points. We sincerely wish to apologize for the technical glitch and would like to take this moment to thank you for your patience and understanding as our team worked around the clock to fix this problem.
We will not only be crediting back the 400 points that were overcharged, but also be crediting an extra 100 points as a token of our appreciation and as a thank you for your loyalty during this period. You will see a credit of 500 points in your account in the coming weeks.

wow its finally happened! on a lighter note the only dlc on the 360 that doesnt have the "there is no refund for this item" is the resident evil 5 versus mode. hmm?
This is the most amazing thing I have ever read in my entire life. Microsoft actually refunds people money without being sued first! OMG? Has Steve Ballman been replaced? surely he wouldn't allow this to happen.
I bought this on deal of the week, but don't remember if I got charged the correct price or 1200. I'm gonna ask for points anyway

I paid just the initial 800 MS points for the game and still got the 500 points back from Microsoft! Brilliant.
