Xbox 360 - Image 1In an interview with GameSpot UK, Stephen McGill, Microsoft UK's head of gaming and entertainment, explained how they worked hard to make sure the supply of Xbox 360 meets the consumer's growing holiday demand. McGill also throws a nice jab towards Nintendo's shortage problem in the process.

According to McGill, Xboxes seem to be one of the hottest items in people's Christmas list in the UK. He is also proud of the fact that they managed to make sure that every retailer has stocks of the consoles every week. He explained:

We're struggling to meet the demand from every retailer every week. I think we've probably done it better than some of our cohorts out there, but it's a weekly thing--we're getting stock in, we're getting it straight out to the retailers who need it.

McGill also mentioned in the interview that people are getting "pleasantly surprised" with the new features that Microsoft Xbox offers, like the new Friends of Friends feature, which was included in the fall update.

no

MS knows how to make enough consoles and estimate how many they need.
