Microsoft Is Buggy, 360 Refunds Galore |

Ó

So, you've managed to scratch your 360 disc, and you don't get any replacement. And it seems that Dead Rising wants to fry the brains of your console. Yeah, you got it tough, and surely you're not alone in your Microsoft woes. Good thing they've (finally) noticed the plight of the 360 gamers.
They've released an apology, and are admitting that the launch consoles were faulty. Now, they're willing to shoulder the fixing and even refund the repair fees that some gamers have already paid in the past. After investigating, they've pin-pointed that these issues were mostly from the initial batches of the console. Before we get ahead of ourselves here and to avoid any confusion, let's take a look at Microsoft's official statement, shall we?
"As part of our standard and ongoing process of analyzing repair data, we recently noticed a higher than usual number of units coming in for repair. We've made the decision to comp repairs for consoles manufactured before January 1, 2006, and provide refunds to the small group of customers who have already paid for repairs."
Yes, it's rather lengthy, but at least there's some pardon in there (which is a good thing, right?). But hey, at least they're willing to do something about it and don't intend to leave us in the dark. And of course, before you go marching up to Microsoft with your "buggy box," just make sure that it was manufactured last year. We wouldn't want to make any scenes, now would we? It's already bad enough for Microsoft that they're shouldering all these costs. Let's not make it any harder on them.

They don't shift manufacturing that fast....

Funny how it took M$ almost a year to admit that their launch console was infact bugged and riddles with problems. Also funny how they said that only a small insignificant amount of consoles have problems at the start of the year, when its quite obvious that a substantial amount of epeople have had some sort of problem with their consoles.
Thanks M$ for lying again, and thanks xbox150 fanbois for being M$'s guinee pigs. hahahahhahaha

OMG....what about the PSP, So many where returned due to stuck/dead pixels. oh but sony wouldn't do that to their customers. You are obviously an uninformed idiot sony fanboy that likes to kiss sony's ass and not admitt that all companys have problems with their products in the beginning.
At least MS is paying for their mistake, instead of charging their customers around 100 bucks to fix something that wasn't their fault. And they are doing it with or without the extended warranty, and will refund your money if you had it fixed already. That is the kind of company I want to do buisness with, one that actually cares about the customers. But you are obviously too ignorant to realise this, and obviously have no buisness sense at all.
oh, and by the way. I love all three consoles the same. No fanboy here

My current system is mfr date Dec 15, 2005. I'm hoping it's a newer mainboard though, but who knows.

I still have a working first generation PS2 that hasnt given me any problems. Why? Because i make sure to clean the console with compressed air and use a cleaning Disk to get the laser lense clean too.
I have my PS2 since day one at launch and I still have it now. Sony Didnt design as bad console, they just designed a console that didnt live up to the pressure gamers put on them.
Less then 10% of console owners take care of their system. Not many people bother to clean their console. Clean the Lense, make sure not to drop, bump, hit, or cause any shock to the internals.
Thats like blaming Apple for making the Nano so fragile while their other ipods are soo tough.
Any console can be kept up in working order with little maintenance.
As for the Xbox360, you can maintain it all you want, and it will fail. Ask the thousands of people who had problems with it. At least the DRE people got on the PS2 didnt show up till LONG after they used it, the problems people had with the Xbox360 showed up months after it was released. No company should have to replace any product that wasnt taken care of my the user. I work with Computers all the time, and the most common problem for overheating issues is dust. People never seems to use compressed air, and then their computer starts to shutdown randomly. Who do they blame? The company that made the computer? Is that fair?
Apple Ipods. The Nano screen was easily able to crack. Why? Because people assumed that all ipod are as tough as they come. Drop it once, screen cracks. Accidently sit on it, screen cracks. Put too much pressure on the screen while cleaning it, and it cracks. Apple made the newer revision stronger, but was it their fault?
Sony PSP. Sony did replace models with dead pixels. Also its not even a big deal, thats what you expect from anything with a high pixel count. LCD monitors have a pixel policy, its usually 6-8 pixels or more. You get a LCD that has 5 dead pixels, what can ya do about it? Nothing because thats a part of the manufacturing process.
I think my Xbox360 is a ok system. Nothing special because I have a high-end PC. Still the way the Xbox360 internals were designed sucks. The heatsink had as much surface space as a heatsink designed to cool a old P4 and a AMD K6 processor and it was shared with the GPU. The fans were soo loud that I decided to change out the entire cooling system completly with a water cooling system. Microsoft went the cheap route and decided with lower surface area and higher air flow. When they should have went with highe surface area and less air flow. That way the Xbox360 wouldnt sound like a vacuum.

I must say pretty nice from M$ to pull sum off like this . It really shows they might just care about us a little bit...or mayb its a company tactic lol to make people think they are so nice lol.
w/e the case must say Thanks to em

Man i agree, the PS2 was a good console. But to argue it didnt have probelms. Especially laser problems When even the V12 still has problems with its laser; just shows how much of a fanboy you are. I have had 3 Ps2 die on me, all due to laser problems. My last onei fixed myself, buy guess what. Replacing the faulty laser and adding the aftermarker laser fix.
X360 sound like a vacuum???? OK, your clueless. The DVD drive makes more noise than the console. And yes i own one. Btw, i have a high end PC as well; and everyone knows you cant compare consoles to PCs by specs or any other means. Just look at GRAW, NHL07, and just Casue. All the PC versions blow.
Kthxbye
And remeber . God hates Fanboys

Anything could happen, and its always best to have the warranty for whatever life throws at you....if you cant afford a extra 60 dollar, then you should wait until you can.

Well since the DVD drive is in the console and not in another room the drive and the fans do in fact make it sound like a vacuum. And since you own one then you know as well as I do that its freaking loud. Turn every thing off except the console in a quiet room (with a disc in the drive) and you'll hear what everybody else that has one hears. Too much noise.
