Aaron Greenberg - Image 1If you had a library of 17,000 different packages ranging from games to videos and had to organize it in such a way so that anyone could find exactly what they were looking for, how would you do it?

That is the question which Microsoft has been confronted with and has prompted the company to remove what they believe were underperforming Xbox Live Arcade titles.

Aaron Greenberg, product management director for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, pointed out that the problem is deeply rooted in the original design of the XBLM. He said, "we built Xbox Live Marketplace for a few hundred items." Apparently, they never realized how many developers would be interested in putting up content.

He further added that they are looking for a better way to find content and organize all of the DLC that they have in the XBLM. Could this mean a revamp is coming for the current system that Microsoft is using? Probably.

So far all the signs are pointing to a new and improved interface for the XBLM. This poses two questions: what features will be in the new system and when do they expect to have this out? These are questions which will only be answered when Microsoft is good and ready to give out information. We'll be keeping tabs on any developments regarding this so be sure to keep coming back here for more updates.

» bad planing

This is the same problem they had end of last year with the XBL brownouts. They want to expan but do not want to spend the money needed to do so. Why take off games when you could spend the money to put more space so you can expan. If you are going to take the games off then put them on a disk and sell them at a discount price, so those that got the games can have a backup.
