HD-DVD with your Xbox 360 - Image 1The Blu-ray Disc Association may say that the feud between Blu-ray and HD-DVD could end in 18 months, but until the day we see a proclamation of which format will be dominant, all bets are off. To that end, it seems Microsoft is blazing a trail for HD-DVD in European countries, as we just picked up word that they're cutting the price of the Xbox 360's HD-DVD drive by 20 Euros.

To stave off any advances from rival format Blu-ray, Microsoft has lowered the cost of the Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive by 20 Euros, a move quite similar to the one made in the United States in July. The said drive now has a retail price of 180 Euros (approx. US$ 245).

The move may increase both sales of HD-DVD players, as well as push additional Xbox 360 sales, seeing as most HD-DVD players in Europe go for under 300 Euros.

» HD DVD

You can pick up the HD DVD drive in Gamestation for £99 (Approx $200) Still cheaper than the official cut price.

» I think Sert meant some thing different (type error)

I think Sert is pointing out that the 360 is again the biggest selling console in the UK and the word Weekling is a typo and means weekly(as in every week) because the link is showing the 360 selling far more units now than the PS3 in the UK etc now.
