Microsoft AU answers Sony back |

SCE Australia and NZ Managing Director Michael Ephraim has been all around the news this past few weeks giving comments on regional coding and engaging in a statement battle with Microsoft. Giant gaming site IGN ran a series of interviews with Ephraim recently and it seems that the official hit somewhere below the belt, as Microsoft Australia couldn't help but respond.Above all, Microsoft mentioned that there is no truth about X360 sales going on a downward spiral. The MS representative then continued by saying that breaking their next 100,000 units sold-mark wouldn't be a problem. "Looking at our pipeline of first party games, the incredible third-party support from every major games publisher and amazing accessories, not to mention Xbox Live, we are confident that our sales momentum will continue," said the official.
Furthermore, Ephraim in another interview said offering at "seven, eight hundred dollars is extremely steep" for Microsoft even with the accessories included. The MS representative answered this by saying that "with a rumoured Australian retail price of almost a thousand dollars for their next console this is almost laughable."
Lastly, the representative couldn't restrain himself from giving rebuttals as he throw a little stone of a comment to Sony's "definite" March launch in Europe: "Remember those words."

And yea for AU $999 they should shut the ***** up about price. And I think we all know March for europe = lie.

and I have my xbox 360, but I'll buy my ps3 next summer till next year ( max is 2k7 christmas ). why? because right now the ps3 launch games are poor, and we should never trust launch units... also, the xbox 360 have some good games, and a lot of 2k7 titles are multi-platform. But next summer I'll work a month or two to get high in money and buy my ps3 with a LOT of games ( like devil may cry and MGS4 and others ). then I'll wait with those games for FFXIII and FF versus XIII, and shirokishi etc etc.
and in another year ( summer 2k8 ) I 'll buy a wii, so I'll have every console and a lot of fun till there!
so why the battles? I mean, dah the xbox 360 for now is better ( but not in hardware, only in softwares ) but sony will recap in 2k7 end to 2k8 early and surpass xbox 360 in every way! then I'll buy mine and you should do the same, the best is to have fun, not to encourage only one company...
