Halo 3 Bungie Studios - Image 1Even if the fate of the Halo movie is quite unsure at this point, it's a bit reassuring to learn new details about the much-awaited film based on Bungie Studios' popular gaming franchise. When gaming columnist N'Gai Croal popped he topic to Halo 3 writing director Joseph Staten, gamers were treated to a small, yet juicy tidbit about the (still) upcoming Halo film: Master Chief is just a supporting character.

According to Sta hen, Master Chief will perform a very important role in Hollywood's take on the world of Halo, but only as the "most important supporting cast member." And the reason why Master Chief wasn't able to nab the leading role? Apparently, Bungie Studios decided that the helmed hero could not make the cut because of Master Chief's emotional limitations (and maybe because his face is always hidden as well).

Main character or not, we're still optimistic and happy at the fact that the Halo movie production is still a go. At least, finding new details about the movie could be an good indication that it is still being worked on.

» what???

no question now, the movie will suck.

so who could be the main guy??? Nathan Hale? haha

» hmm

i would say the opposite...sry :(

now it has a slightly better chance, think of it this way, look at something like narnia, aslan is the bad ass protector and ace in the hole, but was supporting, same with many characters in LOTR, such as aragorn or gandalf

they can make this work much better i think, for once halo might get a good story and i think it should become a good movie , granted the games were mostly an excuse for 13 year olds to cuss online

a good movie is a good movie, lets wait and see if it even makes it to production

» story line was DULL both 2 & 3

plots jus lacked that dramaticness. dunno wtf that squid has to do with halo. halo1 had it perfect when flood approaches u for the 1st time. it was as much adventurous as starship troopers.

the arbiter made it so depressing - oh the acting was unbearable. mastercheif is a kickass character but he jus wasnt as kickass as he was in Halo1. BGM was boring

Halo universe has a diverse and atmospheric feel though(enough as a selling point for me), and as much as i hate spacy star trek and star wars, Halo has the potential to be more immersive IMO.

if they plan on keepin cheifs face covered, then they best keep the same voice actor.

» Its an action movie, not a drama.

As long as the movie isnt cheesy and if the action scenes are great than the movie will do just fine. I cant think of a single movie based on a video game that was ever good. Some are ok but none of them are good movies. There is a short live action Halo movie available for free on xbox live that they made to show how the movie might look. Its pretty cool even without big budget special effects.
