Doesn't look too friendly, does he? - Image 1What's FF VII without Sephiroth? What's Star Wars without Darth Vader? Where will Mario be without Bowser? Stuck plumbing, one would suppose. The point is - there are no heroes without villains.

Well, for Mass Effect's Commander Shepard, it's Saren Arterius. He's a Turian and a member of the Spectres - the elite military ops for the Citadel Council. Saren is a veteran Spectre and had served 24 years.

Turians are a bit of a Spartan race, so military training is a tradition. Saren entered the military when he was 15 years old and was promoted to active service a year later. No small feat for an ordinary teenager, that's for sure. Saren is no pushover and he justifies his methods (ruthless and brutal) with his results. You really wouldn't want to be at the business end of his weapon and it doesn't help that he is almost fanatically opposed to humans.

It surely won't be a cake walk for our Commander Shepard.

This is looking like it is going to be another huge selling title for the 360.
