mass effect

We know you've seen the Mass Effect screens. Yes they were great. But the problem with screenshots is they don't really give you a feel of how the game will play. Unlike say a a game trailer. Did someone say game trailer? Well, we got it here. The first official movie of this sci-fi role-playing game. But first...

Mass Effect is set in the 23rd Century, a time where humans are no longer earth-bound. Humans have been spreading across the universe, one galaxy at a time. Ah, but as Steven Spielberg once said, we are not alone... that's when the action begins. Historians say the clash of two cultures always lead to one being the Victor, the other packs up and ends up in Vanquishville. In Mass Effect, it's not just culture clash, but encounters with alien creatures, and they certainly won't give up without a fight.

If you didn't go straight to the trailer and read through the intro, well, this is where the blah blah ends and the video begins.

Is it just me, or does the video just freeze halfway through and never return?

There's a pretty long demo walkthrough video on the Live Marketplace.

The video freezes for me too.

One thing I don't get is, if this is such a graphical feast, why are the characters' heads still blocky? Would it take THAT much more processng/graphical power to make the heads more round? I've seen this in other "next gen" games too...
