Mass Effect goes gold, pre-order bonus disc announced |

We've got two big bits of news coming in today regarding Mass Effect from BioWare and Microsoft. The first thing you'll want to know is that Mass Effect has just gone gold, meaning it's primed for its upcoming launch to North America this November 20 (barring any sudden changes, that is).The second matter fans may want to know is that there will be a special bonus disc available for those who decide to pre-order either Mass Effect's standard or Limited Edition pack. Here are the features you can expect to see in the bonus disc:
- A short documentary on DVD introducing the game
- 12 Mass Effect-themed gamer pics (two sets of six)
- Eight dashboard themes (two sets of four)
- Three songs from the Mass Effect soundtrack on a CD
- Four historical Mass Effect trailers from X05 through E3 2007 on DVD
- A demo for Blue Dragon from Square Enix, and videos for Lost Odyssey from Mistwalker, Halo 3, and Halo Wars from Bungie Studios
- A Mass Effect fiction book titled Galactic Codex: Essentials
- A 36-page guide to the Mass Effect universe, including a Citadel timeline and a guide to all non-human races, biotics and the key locations in the Perseus arm of the galaxy
- An additional Mass Effect art book titled A Future Imagined
- A 36-page collection of BioWare's concept art for the game
- A bonus DVD of exclusive Mass Effect background material and additional content including:
