It's no simple studio pose, this box art we've got right here for Mass Effect 2. Yep, BioWare's finally released the official cover for their sci-fi sequel on the Xbox 360.

Oddly missing from the box: the label that says it's "Xbox 360 Exclusive". But what the heck, as IGN noted, it will probably be going to the PC.

Here, let's cease the chit-chat and dive right into the action:

» Can't wait.

I just bought and beat the first game last week, and it was goddamn awesome.

yeah man, I played it through about 4 times. I'm hoping for many new races, the first one had a little bit too less races for my taste.

» Hmm

I guess they just forgot to put Xbox 360 exclusive on that image. With any other game thats just on 360 and PC it still says exclusive on the 360 cover.

» Not exclusive

It may be going to the PS3. Bioshock said only on the 360 and PC as well and look at it now.

With EA behind it now I see no reason it wouldn't go multi-platform. If it goes to ps3, it sucks people wont get the story (or get to make decisions) from the first one. Though I guess they could have a quick summary and decision portion before the game starts.

Let's hope it goes to PS3, you guys need better games to play! haha

» they need to make the first one multi

or it would be a retard move to make the second one multi platform before the first.

You guys do need some good things to play on that shiny system my good graces to ya.

» not really...

there are only a handful of choices in the game that would have ANY bearing on the story of the sequel...

the few times you chose what squad members stay alive, and then the choice dealing with the citadel council. none of which really effected the outcome of the game.

» wow...

nice to see some goodwill toward ps3 owners, even if it is thinly veiled ***** talking...

First off, starting a new game without a save is something Bioware said would work just fine for anyone - with a small re-cap of what happened last game to help fill out the story.

Also, Bioware said that each and every choice from ME1, from dialogue, good/evil choices etc are all recorded in the save file and can be looked at for the import with ME2.

» hmm

i hadn't read that... no wonder the saved game files are so big.

i'm interested to see how that will play out.

thx for the heads up.

» It may not goto..

The PS3 because it is made by Microsoft Game Studios

Just like Sony titles being made by SCEA, will never cross over.

But who knows. It might.

I accidentally deleted my save lol, lost my level 60 Shepard with all the choices I wanted to import to ME2 and with every mission in the game completed. Gotta play it thru it again. O well, not like playing ME again is a bad thing, except for those damn repetitive random planet missions. Really hope they address that for ME2 and fill it with at least semi-meaningful side-quests. Overall one of the best games this gen tho.

by rollypoly - 2009-08-02 13:17
» actually...

ME2 is made by bioware and published by EA, as illustrated on the box art.

ME1 was published on the 360 by MGS, and on PC by EA.

by xXxZEROxXx - 2009-08-02 16:51
» Well..

I bet MSGS has something to do with Mass Effect 2

by rollypoly - 2009-08-03 13:42
» well

EA bought bioware. so if MGS has anything to do with ME2, it isn't much.
