Make backups of your HD DVDs |
Ó
Over at Jake Ludington's online site, the guy's banking on the HD DVD format lording over the Sony's baby. But before that becomes a reality, he very well knows that there are still a couple of necessary things missing. He wrote, "if I want to watch my HD content somewhere other than my Xbox, or if I want to backup my $30 investment, at this point, I have to create my own solution."
So what's the solution he came up with? He reckoned that people need to make copies of their Hd DVDs It's a good thing the guy isn't selfish or whatever. According to him, here are the things needed to create backup copies:
- An Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive
- Tons of fast-write drive space
- HD capture card with component inputs
- Video Capture Software
- Proper cabling
- Video conversion software to output a compressed HD video file

Ah, the analog hole. How ... innovative.
NOT.
Jeez, you just PLAY the video and RECORD it on the pc. Any idiot with too much money could think of this.
thats not really a proper backup, you loose all of the HD-DVD funtionality.
Anyway, why bother, its cheaper to buy the disc again if it's damaged than purchasing that setup.
Why dont u just attach a VCR (What is that???) or a DVD Recorder to the TV and then just capture whatever is displayed on the Screen . What it wont be HD. Who cares it works.
This is not inovative, new, or even news. Not to bash the author, but why even post this. There are HD-DVD players for PC, so why complicate things. This method is like reinventing the wheel.
this actually surprises me that it works... everytime i tried to capture a DVD over composite, the image would be scrambled from copyright protection.
iv copied clips off of a few movies thru my capture card and it didnt scramble at all, but i agree that this whole thing is pointless to post, maybe they should add that you can record gameplay footage the same way so we dont get people taking pictures of their TVs anymore
