Writing on his blog, he said:
I've seen quite a bit of discussion today about how we're bringing Silverlight ads to LIVE in the future. I need to let you know that you don't need to worry about a huge influx of ads across the dashboard. One of our core principles is to enhance, not interfere (emphasis his) with the gaming experience, and we work directly with our partners to only deliver experiences that are relevant to the LIVE community.
Silverlight will help make those ads a more organic part of the dashboard, like we've done with some of the NXE slots in the past. No one on the team wants to turn the dashboard into something that looks like Shibuya Crossing. That's just not good for anyone.

If you took a Major Nelson promise to the bank, you'd get an overdraft and a service fee.
I pay for XBL....how about no ads at all ?
Or at least limit them to the Store and keep it game related (like PS3)
The biggest thing I hate about 360's dash is all the room that is devoted to ads....especially when you are not silver (I can understand ads for silver users)
If they are going to paste ads all over the place and make money off of them, they should consider making XBL free all together.....of course that won't happen.
If you're going to put more ads in at all, lower the subscription fee. And these ads better not slow the Dash and Guide down even more
I'm with everyone on this one.
I think Xbox Live should be free even without adds lol. (P2P networking ftl) This is even more of a ripoff.
