Macy's Kinect Event Miami videos - not much of a demo

Kinect continues to make its rounds across the country with more public demonstrations. Two videos have cropped up from a Miami event in-store at Macy's. Kinect was working great, yes. The demo, not so good, mostly because the person handling it wasn't quite as sure what to do with it -- or appeared not to care so much.

 

 

 

 

For one, the camera was pointing at the floor and not at the player. Second, the player, well, he wasn't exactly playing.

lol yeah the camera was pointing at the floor during the track n field. the bowling looked pretty effin' accurate, I'd have to play with it before I make up my mind of shelling so much cash for something that's most likely a gimmick.

accurate... yes, cus everyone gets so much power and accuracy from barely moving their arm, the system exagerates the movement of the person... i don't c wats accurate about that.

I think replicating an anticipated movement with precision is pretty interesting. For it to know which way to exaggerate must be a pain in the ass to program. I also think it's ideal for the lazy person

M$ is quickly losing my support with this crap. Gotta admit this just looks like plain garbage. Blame it on the staff, but the last time I checked kinect doesn't come with staff included in the box.

I'm assuming the "staff" didn't let them touch the actual console/camera.

There was a bit of lag in the bowling .. not a big deal but it probably is if you need to react quickly. and it just doesn't look fun
