If you're not going to the GamesCom event in Cologne, Germany, don't worry cos there's still something for you to do on August 19th. That day, apart from the aforementioned conference, sees the launch of the demo for Lost Planet 2.Yes, Takeuchi's vague confirmation about a month ago has now been fully confirmed with a press release from Capcom announcing the scheduled release of the said game's demo.
It will be launched on the Xbox Live and will be made available for both Gold and Silver members. Now, this August 19th date is actually for Gold subscribers. The Silver members will be getting a crack at the demo not until August 26th, but at least you're sure you can avail of it soon.
Capcom still hasn't given a specific release date for the full game, but Lost Planet 2 is expected to come out sometime in Fall of 2009.
