Lite-On IT reported to make 360 HD-DVD player |
Ó
The second largest optical disc drive manufacturer in the world is ready to try their hands on Xbox 360's HD-DVD player. According to reports from the Taiwanese paper, Economic Daily News (EDM), Lite-On IT will start making HD-DVD players for Microsoft's next-gen gaming console, the Xbox 360. The company is a well-known Taiwanese manufacturer of DVD and CD which are usually used by OEM PC manufacturers. Current HD-DVD players for the Xbox 360 are supplied by Toshiba. This isn' the first time that Lite-On dabbled on the X360 as last May, we reported to you that the company landed crucial loader orders for the mean, green machine. Aside from that, the EDM report also mentioned that Lite-On's revenues for the fourth quarter will go up due to increases in half-height DVD burner shipments.
As always, we will hook you up with more info as soon as new developments come pouring in.
