Halo - Image 1Will this mean that the once-dropped Halo movie will become reality soon? 20th Century Fox, helped by its licensing relationship with Microsoft, managed to get the licensing rights to the Halo franchise. Fox will be rolling out various Halo merchandise, such as apparel, books, and even collectibles (Spawn's Todd McFarlane will provide Halo 3 figurines).

With the immense popularity of the Halo franchise, Fox believes that they will be able to distribute and sell Halo products up to the release of the fourth Halo game.

There is no mention about the production of a Halo movie, however. There were plans for a Halo movie last year which was supposed to be produced by both Fox and Universal, but was eventually dropped into obscurity.

Fox supports Blu-Ray, correct?

So does this mean that the movie will come out on Blu-Ray & not HD-DVD?

Cant Microsoft/Bungie do anything to stop it - like put a clause in the contract - would suck for XBOX HD-DVD owners [we/they are the real HALO fans - not PS3 users]

» First thing I thought too!

HAHAHAHA!

So screwed up!

If you want to see Halo in HD you'll have to buy a Blu ray player (PS3)

HAHAHAHA! That's a good one.

» Poor Microsoft.

Hopefully Microsoft will come up with strategy to advertise the new "HD-DVD." Not to mention the some 1,500 Blockbusters selling ONLY Blu-Ray, and the some 250 selling BOTH Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. It is clear that this is a foreshadow that Sony seemed to have won the format war, and though they won the format war, this doesn't necessarily mean that they won the console war. That is still to come. Though it is most likely PlayStation 3 will win. It is said (QJ in an article a couple weeks ago) only 20% of the Playstation 3's power is being used in games as of now, imagine the power of the PS3 by next month, you will see a steady incline of both graphics and gameplay, not to mention the free online service. Im not trashin Microsoft, but having a head start in the launch does not garentee the win.

by so i guess halo 3 isn't the last one - 2007-06-20 17:23

» allen u don 't get it

It doesn't matter how much power is being used by the Ps3, that won't determine the winner and i hope everybody realizes that by now. If the console doesn't have any great games then that power won't make a difference. I agree that the head start doesn't garuntee a win but neither does this so called un-tapped power. Also, don't expect any amazing magical power increase in a month because thats not realistic. I own all 3 next gen systems and my 360 gets the most play time right now with my Wii second and my Ps3 dead last. Maybe when Tekken 6 comes out ill blow the dust off of it and decide to plug it in.

Meh either way I dont care, I own all three next gen consoles too and I'm dead bored of each one...I'm ready for the next versions of the systems. It'd be nicer if microsoft, sony, nintendo just merged and created one super console so I wouldn't have to worry about halo the movie coming on hd-dvd or blueray and which one I'm going to buy or gta episodic content and stupid things like that.

I'd rather have one big hunky 50lb box next to my t.v and only one proprietary movie format to purchase or rent when I go to store instead of 3 consoles and 2 movies formats.
