Learn Japanese smack talk for Lost Planet multiplayer |

Kotaku found another goldmine from Brian Dunn, one of Capcom's translators-slash-marketing specialists. Since he knows Lost Planet about as well as he knows Japanese, he realized that American players could just as easily be playing against people from the Far East as they could play against that guy from across the street. Since there's going to be a little language barrier between the Japanese and English-speaking players in the game, he's made a quick Japanese reference guide for English-speaking gamers.
His handy guide covers the basics of Japanese pronunciation and a small sampling of useful phrases for games. He cuts them up into two parts: some phrases made for friendly banter, and others for smack talk.
For instance, you can say "Konnichiwa," which means "Hello," in Japanese. If you want to praise your teammates for a good job, he also teaches you to say "Otsukaresama deshita," the very long equivalent of "Good job!" On the flipside, you can also taunt your enemies with phrases like "Shine! (Die!, pronounced as Shee-nay)," "Kakkate koi! (Come and get some!)," and "Kore demo kurae! (Take that!)."
Yes folks, you can now develop your bilingual swearing skills. Just remember, there's a better chance that the Japanese guys know English swear words than you know Japanese swears. Don't start mouthing off about someone's mother in group chat, because you may end up regretting it with an in-game headshot.
