Game of Honors at Blogspot asked the studio themselves, and this is what their intriguing answer was:
Unfortunately we are still not working on a 360 version of MGS4. However, we're revealing something.
Do we dare read "still not working" as "still not in the development stage, but eventually will", or is that stretching a bit much? As for the promised revelation, it need not necessarily be MGS4-related. They do have other games, after all.
Zone of the Enders 3, anyone?

to me it sound like their being funny and sarcastic when they say Unfortunately we are still not working on a 360 version of MGS4, because they've probably been asked that so many times. And the other comment "However, we're revealing something" could be any thing for any console, maybe even a new mgs for iphone. I like how every time theirs a non mgs kojima productions rumor everyone assumes zoe 3, I'm hoping for Snatcher 2

The Xbox won't get MGS4 probably until they switch up to Blu-ray which is going to be next gen most likely. Sorry that I don't know what Snatcher is but if it's good then I approve. I really don't see ZoE3 going exclusive to any system instead I see it as a multi-platform selling game.
xbox will never get mgs4 kojima is just messing with fanboys by teasing them. he doesnt like xbox so its kinda pathetic to rumor mgs4 360 release on every god damn game convention. i know thers no game on 360 half as good as mgs4 but if u want to play it that badly get a ps3
lets see how long it takes for a new rumor...cant people accept MGS4 was not ment for 360 just as Gear Of War was not ment for PS3?
technically, Gears of War would be very possible on PS3. It uses the Unreal Engine, which runs very well on PS3. (Unreal Tournament 3 runs well for example)
Space isn't the problem either. I think it's just the deal between Epic Games and Microsoft. Furthermore, Cliff Bleszinski (was that spelled right?) already stated several times his favor for the Xbox 360.
MGS4 however is simply not possible on 360 because of Space requirements unless they plan to release it on 8 DVD's.
(A normal Dual-layer DVD holds 8.5 GBs. If you take away the space required on each game-DVD for security and system data, you get around 6,5 GBs worth of game data. To reach the 50 GBs of the dual-layer Blu-Ray, you need at least 8 DVDs)
Furthermore, MGS4 was especially built for the Cell Broadband Engine. They would have to completely rebuild the whole engine for DirectX systems. (Which the 360 and a normal PC with Windows uses.)
