Kinect will be pricier in Europe

Ó

Kinect will retail at US$ 150 in North America. But as you might expect, it'll sport a bigger price tag in Europe. For those in the region, this is how much you'll have to cough up.

msk

In Britain, the standalone device is worth £129, which is about US$ 196. For all the other locales, it's €149, which rings up at about US$ 192. US$ 150 seems quite a price already for some consumers, so imagine how those in Europe and the PAL territories must feel.

I´m living in germany, and this news is like a painful strike against my pocket.
It´s like they are thinking that everyone that has an xbox360 can spare a hundred bucks to buy this "gadget".
Maybe i will get one when its around 50€(~60$), but not before.
It would be interesting to know if some of you would even be able to play with kinect, because of the space issue and such.

all of the 360 accessories have been WAY over priced. remember when the HD DVD drive came out? 200 bucks. and they charge a lot of money just to buy a HDD for your 360 if you dont have one. its ridiculous.

Well again Sony win! The Move bundle (100$) in Europe is around 60€ (76$), and about 50£ (76$) RRP, but if you know where to buy (and by where I mean online...) you can easily subtract 10£....And both motion and subcontroller are also cheaper!!!!
So again kinnect will only be popular in US, and maybe also on UK (though no reason there...)!!! But in the rest of Europe and Japan PS3/Move will continue to rule, as it should!

If the Move doesn't win the motion control wars (at least against xbox, as for wii its almost won...)...
This time around Sony has the best price and the best hardware...The only "arguably" (not to me) could be the experience...

I really don't think anything could knock the Wii out of the motion gameplay lead simply because it's the original control and hardware, and all the games are tailored specifically to that. The Move is an add-on, and there will be less games that are compatible.

Yah that's what I meant to say! Wii probably won the motion wars...

try not to forget that the 360 isn't region free, so it is possible that KINECT for Xbox 360 could be hardware region locked, for some stupid reason to make people overpay for it.

I am bying it on day one, it will not be more pricier it´s the same price but whit the value of dollar and euro it looks like it will be more expensive. So if u are a american it will cost 150 dollar. and if u are european it will cost u 150 euro, but if u compare those two in dollar it is cheaper in USA, who dose that any way?!

Go MICROSOFT! this one is yours! Kinect will own that ugly MOVE SH*T! yeee!

dont mean to sound xenophobic but once again the uk is subsidising the cost for the americans.

I think its a bit strange that the only colour scheme (shiny black)available matches the latest xbox. even though 100% of people have white or elite xboxes. M$ just love playing their consumers for idiots it is crazy.

considering all the changes madeits like all the others were just beta versions of the latest xbox.

is anyone who bought the ff version or the mw2 version (250gb) buying the new one?

It is always the same like we europeans have more money. We pay more for our consoles and games to. That is why i import games.

MS aren't stupid they know they can charge a ridiculous amount and take advantage of all those people blindly desperate to buy all the latest things, then i'm sure after a few months they'll consider lowering it when there's more games made for the next round of customers. Personally for what it does it's worth no more than £50.

TBH no big surprises that it cost more. practically everything tech related cost more than it does in the US. This is something most of us are used to....

...BUT the number one irritating fact is when we have to wait some times 3-6 months for a product that is already on sale in the US to come out here. Pretty much exactly the same as it is in the US...

And they wonder why we import stuff.

Who's willing to bet a nice chunk of the extra money us Europeans pay is in god-dam taxes.

Greedy bloody governments.

You simply don't know where to buy! If you import from UK online retailers, you get the cheapest prices on the world FACT (as I've bought, and compared prices from all over the world!).
You just have to know the right SHOP TO go...Or otherZAVVI you'll pay much more!
Can't be more explicit than that!
