Kinect Star Wars game coming next year

A new Star Wars title is in the works courtesy of Ghostbusters devs Terminal Reality. The game, slated to arrive next christmas, will make use of Microsoft's motion based gaming device, the Kinect. Speaking to BBC's Newsbeat, Kudo Tsunoda, creative director for Kinect at Microsoft, confirmed the title is still in development.

"We have a Kinect Star Wars game coming out for next holiday [Christmas 2011]," Tsunoda said when questioned about Kinect's lineup for next year. "I think you could just easily imagine being a Jedi and using Kinect to make you feel you're part of a Star Wars experience, building yourself up into a Jedi. I've seen a bunch of the game and it's super compelling."

 

 

The title was revealed to the press at E3 last June.

no offense to Kinect users, but I think this is more suited with a Move controller. what do you think folks?

For the lightsaber aspect, yes, but the force moves are much more suited to Kinect.

the force moves could just as easily be accomplished with the Move controller - turn it sideways & push for a Force push, click a button and move to use the force to grab something, etc.

I wonder if the "throw laser shots back"-move is what the player really was moving like, or if it is just a premade move triggered by gestures... Same thing for the sword swings.

Could be VERY cool if they are not premade...

i think it looks cool i would get for my kinect, the thing about kinect, wii, move is that kinect it makes u stand up to play it, fighting games is much better because u dont need to hold the controller just close your fists and kick or punch( yeah kick. thus many games from wii you dont relly need to stand up to play it u can play laying down as i do with some titles, move too sitting down thats good thou for players in wheel chair where the kinect u need to be standing up to play ( something they should fix)...
