Kinect for PC confirmed by Microsoft

Ó

kinect-bundleIt's very likely that Microsoft already had this planned all along, but it would also be sweet to think that all those Kinect-PC hacks has something to do with this new announcement from the company that brought us Kinect. Yes, they say, Kinect will indeed be coming over to the PC.

Microsoft big boss Steve Ballmer himself made the confirmation that they are, in fact, working on the development of a PC version for the Kinect. Speaking with BBC, Ballmer explained that they do intend to support the PC with Kinect all in due time, and that once they are ready, they will be making the official reveal.

Xbox 360 owners of the Kinect, in the meantime, can look forward to updates for it which will improve its efficiency. At the recent CES, Microsoft announced that a new update will be coming for the Avatar Control Panel.

PC gamers will definitely be looking out for that Kinect-connectivity. As we all would be too.

that's quite the turnaround there. i distinctly remember them saying kinect will remain exclusively for the x360. maybe they joined 'em hackers cos they can't beat 'em.

Almost every hardware of Xbox 360 works on a PC.

Except the games.

Question is whether it costs more or less than 360 version. Because 360 can afford a price drop with software sales to subsidise but Pc can't rely on that as much, and i mean unless the Pc version's technically better you just buy the 360 hd it's cheaper.

Guess sales are bad... "oh hey lets just sell it on the P.C also to try and boost sales..." LOL.

Microsoft = Fail.

The sales are going great, they're just expanding it for others to also enjoy.

Fanboys are such cocksuckers, low lifes.

I'm not a fan boy... I have a 360.

I just think the Kinect is a pointless waste of money...

So maybe you should get on your knees and suck me... ;)

They should have announced it upon launch more than AFTER these hacks. The only reason they want the market now would be over PC hacks of the Kinect along with profitability. The only people who may buy it would be High-end PC Gamers. Then again... Asus and other companies may be wanting in on the action too.
